As I indicated, I think the appointment process is more apt to weed out unqualified judges than the election process, but I agree that it all depends on who is doing the appointing. But I do feel strongly that the perception of the judicial system is injured when contributions enter the equation.
As you suggest, some countries have college programs and exams just for judges.”
