Shantelle Hicks, Pregnant 8th Grader, Outed To New Mexico School Assembly (VIDEO)

Commented Mar 8, 2012 at 17:06:46 in Education

“Its more of the same from "educators'" attitudes toward Native American students. First they stole children from their families. No consent from the parents and hauled them into boarding schools where they were subjected to the humiliation of being "deloused," boy's hair was cut, sometimes girls as well, they had to wear uniforms in many cases and slept in dormitories frequented in the night by pedophilian staff members. When they died because of the abuse, they simply told the parents they died of some disease. No investigation. No questions asked! Fast forward to 2012 and this same attitude of treating Native American's with disdain as if they were devoid of feelings or not deserving of simple decency. For once, I agree with the ACLU and that is something I thought I would never say. As a Native American Prebyterian minister, I am appalled at anyone suggesting this even comes CLOSE to being alright! The circumstances which led to this situation are irrelevant to this discussion, nobody's business but this girl, the father of the child and their parents. But to parade her in front of the student assembly smacks of "puritanism" at its highest form. There is nothing in what they did to this girl that is permissable. The people of this country are appalled when people are murdered in concentration camps, when ethnic cleansing takes place in Europe.”

Steve Beshear, Kentucky Governor, Could Show President Obama The Reelection Ropes

Commented Nov 5, 2011 at 02:51:19 in Politics

“First of all, he's supposed to be Obama the "Christ," the annointed one! So why is he having such low polling numbers? Why is the country tanking AGAIN and now that he supposedly stopped "blaming George Bush" for everything? Why does he have to take advise from anyone if he is Obama the Annointed One? Because those who ushered him into the greatest office in this country were bamboozeled! This Community planner, or whatever he was, with two years experience as an unsuccessful Senator used, used American fervor for "change" and rode that wave into the White House. Plain and simple. This inexperience has come home to roost because if he had an ounce of experience he would have made things happen. Instead, though he certainly made things happen, they were for one segment of the people AGAINST the other. That isn't leadership from our President! That is baboozell! Wake up America!”

“'Supposed to be'? According to whom? Limbaugh? Certainly not to his supporters.

Why don't you substitute The Economist for whatever nonsensical sources you rely on for information?”

“Why do so many Republicans think he is the "annointed "one? This is something I have been hearing since the first election and it makes you sound silly, petty and childish.”

“"First of all, he's supposed to be Obama the "Christ," the annointed one! "

Well, that's what the wingers keep saying. I've never heard any of that talk from anyone but extreme right wing Republicans.”

“Nice to have a scapecgoat, eh? Pres. Obama has proven he is very capable of handling the job he sought. He's created more jobs, I for one am glad he's been in charge to steer us toward a more equitable future.

Use your vote, people! Let's do better than NO!”
