“Well, this would never fly in the U.S. In New Jersey, grounds can include adultery, desertion, and drug use: http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/blog/newjersey-law-divorce-separation/new-year-new-life-grounds-for-divorce-in-new-jersey/ But I would say that...who files for grounds for divorce anymore? Isn't the de facto grounds "irreconcilable differences".”

“New Jersey is about to change the laws on prenuptial agreements - http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/blog/newjersey-law-divorce-separation/new-jersey-bill-questions-conscionability-in-prenuptial-agreements/ Before, the terms of the prenup were revisited at the time of the divorce to make sure they are fair, but now that's happening at the time of the signing. If a women who agrees to no spousal support, but then finds herself disable and unable to work, this could raise some thorny issues.”

Peanut Butter And Jelly Racist? Portland School Principal Ties Sandwich To White Privilege

Commented Sep 17, 2012 at 06:16:48 in Education

“I actually think it's more a classist issue. As I read the "PB&J banning" stories, I can't help but think, what about families who get food from shelters and food pantries? Peanut butter is a cheap source of protein & is almost always included. How do we accommodate for this?”

Buying grass fed organic isn't so spendy when you know you're eating meat only 2-3 times per week. Other than that, vegetable protein!”

Study Suggests Weight-Loss Becomes More Difficult After Menopause

Commented Sep 3, 2012 at 17:23:51 in UK Lifestyle

“This is a much-needed study, but rather than just focus on eating habits of women who can lose weight, look at why so women can’t — it’s much more than eating fried food, etc. After menopause, women tend to be in a state of hormonal imbalance that makes weight gain impossible http://www.womentowomen.com/healthyweight/whatisweightlossresistance.aspx. As the the body tries to right the ship, it begins adding belly fat to enhance estrogen production (fat in the middle can actually produce estradiol). The key to losing weight is to balance hormones!”

“In New Jersey, you need to name the person with whom the affair was conducted as the correspondent. This person is then served with papers and is given the chance to dispute the findings. Seems to me that you would have to actually file for divorce on the grounds of adultery http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/blog/newjersey-law-divorce-separation/new-year-new-life-grounds-for-divorce-in-new-jersey/ rather then the generic "irreconcilable differences" in order to make this stick. Postnuptial Agreements: The Prenup for Married Couples

Commented Sep 23, 2012 at 21:26:37 in Weddings

“Postnuptial agreements are great for circumstances like when one spouse leaves the work force to take care of the kids -- it's an insurance policy that they won't be left high and dry. Post-nups can't cover child custody -- meaning, you can't predecide who gets the kids. This must be done at the time of the divorce and in the best interest of the kids. http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/blog/newjersey-law-divorce-separation/post-nuptial-agreements-more-commonplace-says-matrimonial-lawyers-group/ I am glad to see these gaining in popularity.”

“Among the things a postnup can't cover are any issues related to child custody (http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/blog/newjersey-law-divorce-separation/post-nuptial-agreements-more-commonplace-says-matrimonial-lawyers-group/) --- meaning that you can't predecide child custody, it must be done at the time the marriage ends and be in the best interest of the child. Other than that -- full steam ahead. These do seem like a good idea, especially among couples where one parent leaves the workforce to take care of children at home.”

“Great read...there still could be an override and remember, civil unions in NJ are being questioned right now in court by Lambda Legal, so let's hope the Ombudsman plan is over -- and fast. From my own experience, civil unions in NJ do an adequate job covering matters at the END of a relationship...like division of property, assets, and child issues in a divorce situation (though we can't really call it that). Here's a list of the goodies we can get then http://www.weinbergerlawgroup.com/Divorce-and-Separation/Domestic-Partnership-Dissolution/Dissolution-of-a-Civil-Union-or-Domestic-Partnership.html But there are so many other areas -- adoption, insurance, etc., where I've heard civil unions not recognized. There may also be a problem with couples in NJ who work in NY -- where marriage, not CUs are recognized. It's a big mess that Christie could have avoided by putting aside his political aspirations and doing the right thing!”
