Obama Faces Backlash Over New Corporate Powers In Secret Trade Deal

Obama Faces Backlash Over New Corporate Powers In Secret Trade Deal

Commented Dec 9, 2013 at 15:21:47 in Politics

“It is inconceivable that any "sane", as you like to say, person could take away from this article the idea that Obama is doing anything but the bidding of the 1%. In one sentence you admit that he is a corporatist and in the next somehow conclude that this is in the interest of the 99%. Logic clearly is not your forte. Obama is nothing but a neo con in centrist clothing. He is promoting a corrupt agenda, which he is desperately trying to keep secret from the people who will be most disadvantaged by his subservience to big money.”

Patriot Act Author Jim Sensenbrenner: DNI James Clapper Should Be Prosecuted For Lying To Congress

Commented Dec 8, 2013 at 11:24:31 in Politics

“Your babbling defense of Clapper would be laughable if it were not meant to fabricate opinion of those who seem unable to reason out this supposed dilemma for themselves. What he should have done is answer truthfully. He and his agency are accountable to the American people and to congress. No national security secrets would have been compromised by a truthful reply and, unless you have forgotten, the supreme law in the US is, or was in an earlier time and should be, the US Constitution, not what one or the other agency or bureaucrat, or Admiral or policician deems too sensitive to divulge to the citizens. Your contrived explication would do service to Goebels, if it were presented in another forum about 75 years ago. It is pathetic and insulting to anyone who believes in the founding principles of this country and truly respects its security and national defense concerns.”

The Horrifying Reality Of What Diabetes Did To This Man's Leg In 10 Days (GRAPHIC IMAGES)

Commented Dec 7, 2013 at 02:51:34 in UK Lifestyle

“Type 2 Diabetes is fundamentally a lifestyle related condition that can be prevented. The most important preventatives are:
1. Diet - Low carbs, Very little or no refined sugar, no high fructose corn syrup, heaps of fruit, little or no processed foods, low saturated fat.
2. Chemo preventative dietary supplements. Transmax and Bioforte Resveratrol have been conclusively shown to lower blood glucose and blood pressure, improve insulin sensitivity, and help to keep one's weight in check. These supplements are also effective as a treatment when administered to patients who are and are not taking the Metformin type drugs.  Ask your endocrinologists. He should be familiar with Transmax.
3. Exercise and weight control. Obesity is the prime cause of Diabetes.
If the patient waits until he has Type 2 Diabetes to think about prevention he/she will be facing a lifetime of drugs, disability, and eventual loss of sight and possible limb amputations due to the complications of this condition.”

“Ok, so much for the opinion. Ageing is far more complex and far less inevitable than this article implies. Taking a proactive approach can delay or entirely prevent the disabilities and progressive deterioration that comes with ageing for most people. Read Dr Betz's book on Amazon, "Resveratrol - is there a limit to human life span?" and you will understand what I am trying to say.”

“Just tried to fave your Dec 9 comment about "Obama Faces Backlash."
For no conceivable reason, it's been deleted from the "threads"!
I see you're a refugee from the Dec 9 fac/ebook debacle.
If you're no longer posting, you know, there are "ways..."
(That's why we see some current HuffPo members with fac/book "names" like "I_P_Standing."
YOU should be contributing. We need your views. If you find a way, please give me a nudge.
Otherwise the forum deteriorates into a yakky blab-fest for people with shallow views and no dignity to protect. The day after the fac/ebook fiasco, a sexual conquistador using his real name and headshot gave me a detailed brag-list of his flaccid morality--or rather lack of the latter.
Please, jamesinraro, the sane, thoughtful ones left in here, need more like you.”

“Progressive tax rates only inhibit one macro economic number. That metric is the amount of money sitting idle in the accounts of wealthy citizens. This means less money in circulation, less capital available to small business owners and home buyers, and a lower GDP. The Govt has chosen to implement a massive Ponzi scheme in which one hand buys the debt created by the other; and this is supposed to increase the size of the economy and postpone the inevitable reckoning with its failure to collect sufficient income from high earning tax payers (avoiders) to pay for the cost of providing the goods and services that the govt. is responsible for. In other words, instead of taxing the rich and using these funds for the benefit of all citizens, and for such things as a bloated military, Obama, Bernanke, and the brilliant advisors who Obama brought from the failed Wall St. banks, have architected a system in which wealthy individuals, their former and future investment clients, accumulate disproportionate allocations of the taxpayers' wealth, and to make up for it the govt. issues epic amounts of new public debt.”

Jim Pasterczyk on Dec 5, 2013 at 05:15:32

“Yes, it would be much better if Congress would simply start priming the pump by public works projects as has worked before, but that would be an admission that Hayek Austrian economics doesn't work. And it's been the GOP House where all tax writing legislation must constitutionally originate that has prevented any increases in the marginal tax rates for those most well compensated.”

Cutting them is entirely consistent with the GOP program of plunder from the middle class to benefit their privileged benefactors. Cut the NSA. Cut drones, Stop invading countries whose name we can not even spell, and no one can point out on a map. Tax billionaires. Make Apple, Google, and Amazon pay their taxes where they make their profits. “From my perspective living outside of the country, this pathetic line of questioning is further proof that the UK has lost the plot. I can easily see the development of a radical left rivalling the hostility and aggression of the radical right born out of the frustration with effete, inept, out of touch and thoroughly corrupt hypocrites like Vaz. To even question the need for a diverse, independent, and free press in a developed country in the 21st Century is despicable.”

“Antiquated trains? You are of course an expert? That locomotive looks to be less than 10 years old. When purchased it cost several million dollars. It has an on board computer that monitors and controls the locomotive. The engineer tell the computer what he wants the train to do and the computer makes it happen.

How you reached this concussion I don't know. The engineer zoned off, I doubt he was truly asleep but his brain had gone into neutral, I've had that happen driving my car. There are no know safety devices to stop that. In Spain they just had an engineer who was texting and wrecked his train. Was his train antiquated?”
