Time for Superdelegates to Ratify Obama's Insurmountable Pledged Delegate Lead and Settle the Democratic Nomination

Commented Mar 26, 2008 at 17:18:47 in Politics

“Here is a thought for those who might feel they will not vote in the Presidential Election based on who the nominee is. Thoughts of Supreme court appointments are very important in presidential politics. However, with Hillary cozying up with the Right Wing Conspirators, Carl Rove and monied special interests to try and have herself appointed as nominee depite the actual vote. Can we count on Hillary to not have to pay these same people that put Bush in the White House by giving them policies/supreme court justices that they want? (Let alone no knowledge of Clinton tax returns and what debts may be due to Bill's library donors). We do need a third party. May be time for a protest vote for Ralph Nader.
The English language is very powerful, those that disagree, this is merely for some to think about. I am not telling anyone what to do and we are all adults that can make up our own minds. Correct?!?!?
(If the report I read was correct, Carl Rove gave a commencement speech recently at the Willam Jefferson Graduate School of Business. If true, I find that extremely damning for a democratic prez. candidate. Yes, I will take the liberty and lump Bill and Hillary together, I believe her campaigning techniques allow me that liberty)”

“since you mention Carl Rove: Months ago, he advised Obama on how to fight Clinton. Obama never even said "Thanks". He did not distance himself either. Just as in the Farrakhan endorsement. Just as in the Wright case.”

“Hillary Clinton....cozying up to Karl Rove? Nominating conservative Supreme Court judges? Just how much kool aid is out there to drink??”

donaldw6 on Mar 26, 2008 at 17:45:06

“I don't even trust Hillary's potential Supreme Court appointments any more. Hillary is not a progressive, and she obviously has no sense of ethics. I'm seriously considering a protest vote for Nader. A John McCain presidency sounds like a pretty dismal thing to me, but a Hillary Clinton-led Democratic party could do even more damage, rooting out really progressive Democrats from positions of influence and setting progressive objectives back in a real sense by a generation or more. I won't cast my vote as some bitter protest, but if Obama isn't the nominee, I'm certainly not an automatic vote for Hillary, by any means.”

The Politics Of Stupid

Commented Aug 1, 2008 at 14:31:48 in Politics

“Reagan reaped many benefits with "there you go again".
I disagree, "is that the best you can do", will be effective for Obama.
Easy to sit back and arm chair quarterback and throw "stupid" around. Obama's track record seems to not fit into the "stupid" categorization.”

“So many say this is satire and people will know it. The cable news will show this over and over, the low information voters will read nothing. Low information voters will see this as a confirmation they are looking for to validate their prejudices.
Those defending this as satire are off the mark. In our 30 second sound-bite society, this will be a welcome propaganda for: Scarboroughs, O'Reilly's, Limbaughs, ad-naseum.
Some of you who think of yourselves as sophisticated and defend this "missed satire attempt" are truly ignorant of racism that might come from the "right" or the "left". So many spout off their unerring perceptions and may have never really experienced bias, but they sure as hell can tell others how they should perceive these slights.
At the best, failed satire. So much for the professionalism of the editor. (see Trey's suggestions to improve).
At the worst, a racist cartoon and weak excuse from the NY Yorker clowns.”

“How about some reality? This was predictable.
If Ms. Breitweiser saw Hillary win, Hillary would also be trying to give the appearance of "tracking to the center".
Was not Bill of the DLC? Didn't Hillary talk of bringing back the good old days of Bill? Did not the DLC try to be similar to Republicans? This is American politics.
We are stuck with this game and have to work with the players we have. Sit it out, but you might want to vote for the person that will hurt you the least.
The person that would be more likely to staff the Supreme Court in a manner more conducive to middle class people. (One way to see real change, as the Republican court nominees have eroded laws protecting the middle class. For one: allowing Media Consolidation and the controlled propaganda to sell you wars.).
Politicians will not always say what you want to hear, no matter if they are named Hillary, Ronald, Mitt......
If your dream candidate were too far from the middle, that person would be crucified by the press and never get near winning one of the 2 parties nomination. Like Kucinich. History proves change takes a long time and the process is slow. Holler, blame and scream all you want. The choices today remain clear and stark. The most rapid change you can hope for will be a President and Congress controlled by one party. See how rapidly the Rethug Busch and Congress changed things?”

Hillary received over 18 million votes and she did so because over 18 million people felt whe would make the better president. That's not a number to put down. How many of them will vote for Obama and how many for McCain remains to be seen. I am sure Obama will get the majority, but will it be enough?”

Hillary's 2012 End Game

Commented Jun 3, 2008 at 14:21:11 in Politics

“Hillary's popular vote claim is simply not true. There have been good articles on Huffington and once I saw MSNBC dispute Hillary's popular vote lie. To get this Clinton-liar math, approximately 7 caucus states are excluded. MSNBC disputed this Clinton lie, but other main stream media let the lie continue, or do not refute it as often as they run Hillary's popular vote claim. (the media is just so mean/unfair to Hillary?!) This Hillary lie counts Michigan and gives Obama a goose egg. We all know Obama would get some votes in Michigan, let alone all the lies Hillary creates about ; agreeing to MI. not counting, but I really did not mean it........
The article on Huffpost indicated that including the 7 caucus states, that Hillary excludes, Hillary may trail in the poplular vote by over 1 milliion or more. Give her Fla. & MI. and she still trails in the popular vote.
Hillary math - does Puerto Rico count in the General Election?
Hillary math - does popular vote or Electoral votes determine the pres. winner?
Hillary math - are not the rules of this primary a winner by delegates?
Hillary fans - with Hillary/Ickes in the driver's seat in creating rules at the start of the campaign, rules they felt favored them- they way things have played out; WHO IS REALLY MORE READY FROM DAY 1?”

“We want a "fighter" in the White House? How childish. How many of you have enjoyed your life experiences dealing with a "fighter"? (in relationships, with a boss/superior). This is bonkers and plain stupid. How many of you think American youth are learning good lessons on how to conduct themselves watching Hillary? Must be OK to lie and cheat! Hillary herself has stated how she enjoys this controversy and "fighting". Does history prove these pugnacious "fighters/bullies" end up accomplishing more than people with other skills? "Fighting" bosses on the job end up being hated and employees resist and sabotage their efforts. Ultimately those who view "fighting" as the way to get things done fail. Much like Hillary's effort with health care under Bill's administration.
Don't forget, you have a "fighter" in the White House at this very moment. How many of you have enjoyed the ride of this "fighter"?”

I saw today, on FOX news, the reporter said it was mathematically impossible for Hillary to win. Then FOX news went on to theorize about what Hillary is trying to get. FOX news seemed to throw water on Hillary shooting for VP, noting the blood is too bad for such a train wreck. FOX news speculates Hillary wants the Supreme Courts. Sooo, FOX news = Republican TV, has given up on ratings based on the Dem. primary race still in play. Keep parroting the race is "virtually tied". Your bias, maybe ignorance is on full display.”

Look at the campaign Obama ran. Pretty smart to beat ole "ready from day one" , her philandering husband and the advantages they had. (Of course Geraldine Ferraro would dispute who had the advantages).
Stating this is not putting Hillary's supporters down. The facts are what they are.
We will see all 17 million Hillary supporters will not abandon the Democratic party when most of them rationally look at the administration and Supreme Court McCain will impose on you. Of course a couple of the 17 million will continue to call names and spit venom. They learned that from Hillary's campaing style, sore losers.”

I have watched Mayhill's following posts on Barack and Hillary.
I would like to offer my opinion that Mayhill be taken off Barack coverage. I see bias in her writings toward Barack (again, discounting the story on the "bitter" remarks).
Mayhill may have donated to Barack to create the illusion of fairness? Maybe Mayhill believes she is being fair and the bias I sense is one Mayhill may not be cognizant of.”

Those who feel they may be in a position to sit out an election due to Clinton big media chicanery, now may be the time to add some legitimacy to a third party. Consider a vote for Nader instead of not voting at all.
On a side note, it tickles me when uninformed Americans still holler about the liberal media. This is definitely not a liberal media at work on Obama and hiding McCain's issues as they hid Bush's issues.”
