“He made a to go order, meaning he phoned it in and picked it up. So the entire 2 minutes he dealt with her warranted no tip? How could she have possibly been so bad that in that 2 minutes that it warranted no tip?”

“Well Kelly I think you may have answered your own question. Many people would ask what she could have done in that two minutes that warranted a tip. Many people believe that they don't need to tip if they aren't actually being served at table and look at it like they would if someone was asking them to tip when they pick up a pizza, Chinese food, or a Big Mac. It's not USUALLY done and some people don't think they need to, ever.
I tip when I go to a sit-down restaurant and get something to-go because, well, I don't know I just do. They're usually very nice and I know I'm asking them (whoever they are) to do something out of the ordinary for me, but I "get" that some people may not "get" that. So, I'm thinking he just never intended to tip on the order because of it's nature and that he wrote "none" rather than "0" or a line.”
“Exactly! Open any workbook they pass out to children of that age in school to teach them a subject in a kindergartner's curriculum and it's simplified terms. She understood mommies and daddies as a term for an adult romantic relationship, so that's what I used and in that particular case it was more appropriate because she saw her friend's mother and her partner for the first time. It was different to her so she asked me.
She also asked me why the neighbors drive a blue car when we drive a silver one, so even that shouldn't be read into too much.”
“It really bothers me when the argument turns into "How will I explain these relationships to my children?!".
The same way I did to my then 5 year old when her friend's mother is gay so she asked about it; "Sometimes a mommy and a daddy fall in love, sometimes a mommy and a mommy fall in love, and sometimes a daddy and daddy fall in love and that's ok.
After that difficult conversation she promptly asked for her lunch because she was so traumatized. /sarcasm”

“When kids ask those questions, they aren't asking for diagrams and flow charts. Nicely done.”
“Horses and cats get along well, actually. Horses and dogs, however, usually do not because dogs tend to nip at their heels and hurt them. When I had my horses, each of them had a favorite barn cat they snuggled up with.”
“Some people are really good at reading animal body language. This video isn't working for me now, but in the past many of the animal videos titled 'cute' actually display stress or barely leashed aggression. Neither of those are fun to watch - I am sure if you watched a video of a person being tortured, you would see it for what it was and be disturbed. Just because some people may be unable to perceive the reality of a situation in regards to animal behavior, doesn't mean others aren't correctly interpreting the signs.”

“It's a double negative for me. I hated Man of Steel so no, I will not go. I could care less what people think of me on the internet. If you want to go see it, be my guest.”

“I like it and thought it was the best Superman yet... Reeves had the look but not the plots... if you didnt care what people say about you, you wouldnt have replied.. so you kind of negate everything you say...”
