“Why? It's a good habit to be in. Just another thing to carry. Unless you're carrying around a ton of ammo and a large gun, it's just another thing like my phone and wallet. I also wear my seatbelt and have a flashlight in my car. Not be I expect to need them, but I'd rather not regret later.”

Personally, I'll continue, however, to direct my rage and disgust toward presidential wrong-doing that cost us billions of dollars, killed tens of thousands including over 4000 of our troops, ruined our standing among foreign powers and permanently, physically maimed thousands of our fellow citizens. I am sickened that decisions and deceptions so immoral were concocted in any public buildings by anyone elected or paid by my country. As the saying goes, when Clinton lied, nobody died.”

“That's right, Shawn. The people do not need to know. A private matter between two consenting adults has absolutely no impact on our economy, our security, our foreign policy or life as we know it. If you want to believe that our political leaders are also our moral role models, you'll need to move to Iran or some other theocracy. We aren't characters in a fairy tale, the kingdom isn't run by a benevolent king, and not everyone lives happily ever after. PS: I also don't care who binge-drank, smoked a little dope or snorted white powder in college.”

Shawn Swigart on May 6, 2014 at 15:00:30

“That is just tyranny to expect that our leaders can do immoral acts and that we do not have a right to know. This was done in the White House, that is a PUBLIC building. Do you get that. The room it was done it has cultural and historical significance. He LIED about it. I think that standing up for someone that has done this speaks volumes to someones character. You are making excuses for the inexcusable, I think it is disgusting. The office of the president is not the same as running the playboy mansion. Is that so hard. What Clinton did led to years of Republican domination of the government and we can see how that turned out. They would never have had those gains if people like you and other democrats would have come out and said it was wrong. You need to understand that some people in this country still have values and they are voters.”

Makes hundreds of millions of dollars -- their CEO. Next thing you know, he's back in government, it's a good idea to go into Iraq," Paul said.

Using 9/11 as an excuse to go into Iraq. Well, now, isn't breaking news? Haliburton-Cheney-oil. Has anyone informed Fox News of this very suspicious coincidence? Apparently they slept through it.

“Amy, perhaps you misunderstand the reaction some of us have to this "news.". I'm not taking joy in his weakness; I am shaking my head over the unquestioning adoration and respect showered on him (and other "religious leaders") by his flock, and the unreasonable assumption that this man could somehow inspire the faithful to new heights of moral purity, when in fact, he is an ordinary human being like all others. He didn't disappoint or surprise me. He is a disappointment only to those who were conned into believing he was a teacher and a role model; the rest of us just don't care how much porn he watches, and how many affairs he has, because we would not dream of relying on his opinion or insight or his behavior (or anyone else's) as benchmarks for our own. I am sorry for the shock his behavior has caused for so many, but they're the ones with the unreasonable expectations of human behavior, the ones whose faith is misplaced.”

realwoman8 on Apr 7, 2014 at 20:54:04

“To say nothing of the flow of dollars showered on this man. NPR (National Public Radio) recently did an excellent expose on where the money goes in these megachurches. It's pretty sickening. Billy Graham was about the only one who was totally upfront about the finances. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. You give these ambitious men power, adolation and the potential for millions of tax-free dollars, of course they'll say whatever pretty words they think will empty wallets. Do you honestly think this many believes any part of the religion he spews? He's a snake oil salesman, just like Swaggert and Baker and Falwell and Robertson.”

“I had a number of biopsies over the years, not because somebody wanted to make a dollar, but because there was evidence of a potential problem. So I was one of those younger women walking around with scars from benign biopsies...until I was suddenly one of those women walking around with confirmed breast cancer. If you really believe that everyone is in it for the money, then there's an easy way out of excessive mammograms and biopsies: opt not to do them. Nobody is going to send the Mammary Police to your house to pick up. Save your money. I wish I could have opted out of breast cancer as easily as you can opt out of what you think are unnecessary tests.”

mary collins finn on Apr 2, 2014 at 19:16:08

“Love your comment Karla. I am truly chagrined at the conclusions from this study as portrayed in the media. The main "risk" of mammography according to the study is "false positive" . What is that risk? That the woman will have unnecessary anxiety awaiting the results of the biopsy! How patronizing a consideration. Are we supposed to be that fragile that we are "damaged" by a few days awaiting a result? What about the relief in knowing that it is benign after all? Discontinuing the yearly mammogram in the younger age group will not reduce the occurrence of false positives. As a retired surgeon the mantra is "no woman should have a lump in her breast". If women find ANYTHING they feel as a lump on self examination the doctor HAS to get it under the microscope. Ironically it is the younger pre menopausal woman who has a monthly hormonal cycle that is more likely to find a lump.
Bottom line, I am already advising my 27 year old daughter to have a yearly mammogram”
