“Yep, you all are spot on. And in other news, Bain Capital is at it again. Workers at the iconic music retailer Guitar Center are seeing their wages slashed and their benefits gutted by none other than Bain Capital.
Bain is using every tool at its disposal to mine every nickel of short-term profit it can before it flips the company to the highest bidder -- and that means clawing back workers' hard earned commissions and insurance. Workers have been fighting internally for better working conditions -- and now they need our support as they go toe-to-toe with management next month.
Prominent musicians such as Tom Morello, Kathleen Hanna (Le Tigre, Bikini Kill), Ted Leo and Billy Bragg have come out in support of workers too.
There's more but I can't post all of it due to Huff Po's word limit. Please visit this link to read more, & sign the petition showing you stand with the workers. Thanks bunches!
“Continued... There are lots of hidden chemicals in cleaners used around the home, which makes my family wonder as my mother was an avid spotless type. We have all switched from the chemical laden formulas to an all natural company that doesn't have toxic chemicals in their products.
Formaldehyde, for instance, is listed under many different names. One of those being quaternium-15. Formaldehyde was never meant to be used on live tissue, & why they use it to embalm people who have passed on.
Since we stopped buying all that junk years ago, I don't know if Johnson's Baby Shampoo finally phased it out or not, but quaternium-15 is a substance that releases formaldehyde. Johnson's Baby Shampoo also contained dioxane. I do know that many people were outraged & fighting back in 2011 to get Johnson to quit putting quaternium-15 in their Baby Shampoo;
Big Oil, fracking, Monsanto, Dupont, Bayer, et. al. will be the death of us all if we don't stop them & start using more clean energy, & healthier alternatives than their chemical laden products & food stuffs!”

“When the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) was enacted in 1976, it was intended to ensure that chemicals are safe throughout their lifecycle, from manufacture to use and disposal. But weaknesses in the law have left the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) largely unable to act on known health dangers or require testing on specific chemicals that may be unsafe. Other laws, such as those setting air, water, and workplace safety standards, do not adequately regulate exposure to most chemicals, nor do they address the hazards a chemical may pose over its entire lifecycle.
To protect the public's health and allow TSCA to work as originally intended, new legislation must strengthen TSCA by shifting the burden of proof from EPA to the chemical industry; requiring all new or existing chemicals to be tested for safety, and establishing safety standards for chemicals to protect children and other vulnerable groups. It must ensure the public's right to know about the safety and use of chemicals and give EPA the authority to protect the public from unsafe chemicals, including expedited action for the most dangerous, toxic chemicals.
This whole idea of sublethal dose runs counter to current chemistry common sense regarding potential synergistic effects. One used to be able to keep up the with the ever growing number of untested but approved compounds, but now it is becoming extremely hidden and difficult.”
“Yep, & most of those chemicals you named, if not all, are carcinogenic. We never had cancer of any form in our family, but we lost my mother in 2007 at age 79 in just 6 months from ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) which mostly affects children. It's the most common type of leukemia for kids between the ages of 2 - 4. Their survival rate has increased dramatically over the past 10-15 years from 80+% to now 90+%.
It's almost a sure death sentence if an elderly person acquires ALL. Their bodies & immune systems can't handle the onslaught attack of this very fast growing & painful deadly disease. My mother suffered tremendously with the pain. She said, "my entire body inside & out feels like a raw piece of meat", similar to how a huge open wound would feel on a healthy person.
When doctors tried to place a finger on what might have been the real culprit behind her contracting ALL, they said it was probably Benzene as it's directly linked to Leukemia, but here's the thing, my mother never worked around any chemical factories in her lifetime (she worked as a cashier & a receptionist), she never smoked, ate healthy as in always having a large garden, most meals were from scratch & she canned for the winter, she didn't buy processed junky boxed/bagged foods, & didn't drink alcohol. We've also lived in the very rural country with well water for most of our lives.
“That's exactly what Paul Ryan did while running for VP w/Rmoney!”
TedEjr on Mar 31, 2013 at 13:55:06
“However, Ryan did not have to go through the primaries. He only spent roughly three months engaged in the top prize fight. Rand would have to spend roughly two years by virtue of the primaries. And Romney was setting the campaign direction. So Ryan had a lot fewer responsibilities.
There is a big difference between the two.”

“True. So then it looks like Ayn Paul can have his cake and eat it too.”
“Wrong!! I worked at one of those companies & he deliberately invested in them, drove up the costs which made them belly up, & dismiss over 250 workers. I & my husband were two of those workers who had been with the company close to a decade. That company is DDI, which originated out of CA, & at the time was based in VA. They are still in business, but not like they were. They have about 100 employees now.
No one, but NO ONE can ever fool me or my family about what Romney, Bain, Ryan, & their ilk will do to anyone standing in their way. They'll run over you with a steam roller, & laugh all the way to the bank. If you believe otherwise, then there's a piece of beach front property in Arkansas I'll sell you! And never forget, you're most likely part of that 47%!”

“I am sorry, what I said is true. I have read all about his company. I am not trying to fool you or anyone, I know what they did.”
“I'm a taxpayer just like every other person on this planet earth you dolt. You are completely clueless, which no only speaks to your non-critical thinking skills but your lack of education & reasoning. This ends the dialogue as you have no comprehension.”
“Obviously you're missing the point. If you read that one very important sentence, "The rules are in place simply to DISTINGUISH between religious, educational and charitable institutions, which are entitled to tax exemption, and political organizations, which are not.", & is exactly why this policy was put into place.
We've enough corruption with Citizens United, lobbyists (like Grover Norquist), & too many others to mention. I donate my money to charities & churches as I see fit, & I expect them to use my money for what it is intended for, & not to use my or other people's donations as resources for their political agendas. Our 1st Amendment not only allows free speech, but also no speech. People need to learn the difference.
Stop trying to unleash a bigger beast. I heard enough hate speech coming from false prophets & their pulpits during the campaigning/election season. They broke the law & have been reported. When I decide to go to my Father God's house of worship, I want to hear his word, not some false prophet spreading lies because they have a political agenda, be it pro or con.
And it's not true when you say only the rich benefit from tax deductions for charitable contributions. Many people who have less benefit from those donations. Until we address stagnate wages, the high debt incurred for getting higher education, stop treating employees like slaves in 'Right To Work' states, corporations, big banks, & wall street owning our politicians et al.,”

“Contribute to whatevery organization you desire but don't expect taxpayers to ffot part of your tax bill for doing so. Gedtting rid of all charitable deductions is the only fair thing to do for all taxpayers.”
“Be careful what you wish for. The IRS has specific guidelines about what non-profits may use their resources for, as well as what religious leaders may say from the pulpit.
They're specifically not allowed to preach partisan politics from the pulpit, only on their own time out of the church & off of church property. If we take away tax exempt status', then they'll be able to say whatever whenever they want, & all non-profits will be able to use donated funds however for whatever they wish. Instead, they should be investigated & fined appropriately, which have occurred, & more in the works.
If you know of any religious leader or non-profit who is breaking the law, then report them! Here's a wonderful site where you can get informed, report someone, & stay up to date on the latest news... http://projectfairplay.org/facts/
As Project Fair Play states, "In 1996, Americans United launched Project Fair Play to educate religious leaders and other Americans about tax exemption and political activity. We send informational letters to clergy, and we file complaints with the IRS when there are egregious violations.
It’s important to understand that federal tax law is not intended to penalize churches and other tax-exempt entities or restrict their free speech rights. The rules are in place simply to distinguish between religious, educational and charitable institutions, which are entitled to tax exemption, and political organizations, which are not. The rules have been upheld by the federal courts."”

“No need. The churces used to be able to have free speech before the Feds put taxes in place on everything. Only the rich benefit from tax deductions for charitable contributions so we should get rid of them to make all people equal.”
“You are completely wrong when you say the President has put himself above the Constitution. President Obama has not put himself above the Constitution. The obstruction Congress has though, with their right wing cronies who keep trying to own them. The Koch Bros., ALEC, Grover Norquist, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson, et al. have done this. You're obviously not aware of one very important fact in our Constitution that says our government is to rule, NOT some plutocrat or oligarch. Those I mentioned above think they rule when they bought these politicians & then proceeded to tell them what to do because they are now owned by those deep pockets. When you sell your soul to the Devil, this is what you receive.
BTW, just so we're crystal, if you think Obama is not following the Constitution, you're more inane than someone diving off a high cliff into a baby's swimming pool thinking they'll walk away just fine afterwards. Obama happens to be a Constitutional lawyer who also taught Constitutional law for pete's sake!!”
“Can you possibly get anymore less informed? The red states are the welfare needy. Go check the numbers. The blue states happen to support the red states as the red states budgets are in the tank. So I say go on bleeders (since red is your color). Just go, & maybe the rest of us will finally be free of the takers who give nothing of value, especially their hateful ugly ways!”

“calif, is a blue state, a lot of freebees from obama”
“Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts Polly27, but I'm sorry for misleading you. I didn't think about what others would think until after I clicked the post comment button :( We, ourselves, do not have any children (we were never blessed). But we have a ton of nieces & nephews, & great nieces & nephews, (27 altogether), so you can still say Happy House :) Actually, this way we have more leeway since they like to pick on my husband instead of being 'ashamed'. We all went through that stage didn't we? They come to visit all the time. Seems like we're never alone for long. Thank you again & you're so welcome. Take care!”
Polly27 on Nov 13, 2012 at 12:11:29
“Actually, our nieces and nephews (and greats) are our grandchildren. We too have a wonderful time with them. No generation gap. Thanks for replying.”
“I've been saying we should conduct an experiment for some time. Let's take all the blue states & continue on our path. Let the red states secede. Let the federal government refuse acceptance of their taxpayer monies to support their infrastructures (roads, bridges, tunnels, etc.), Social Security, SSI, Medicare/Medicaid, public schools, firemen, teachers, police/sheriff depts., telecommunication lines, electrical grids, water lines, welfare (TANF/SNAP), public broadcasting, VA hospitals, & oh so much more that they don't even realize of what all is involved.
Let the people who have the brains to know the difference relocate & come join us blue babes. With no help from the blue states that have helped prop them up & support them all these years, let's see how long it takes them to realize that, before they come screaming wanting back in when they see how we prosper.
I would love to do this. Nothing like making some cement heads actually experience something in order to shut their ignorant hateful mouths. I say we let them all go & do this. What say ye, shall we put them to the test? All those in favor say aye, those in favor say nay. Ahhh, the ayes have it. Awesome...Buh bye!
“Me three. My husband is always going around the house imitating Elmo, & he sounds just like him, especially with that laugh ;) The kids love him & are always asking for a repeat encore.”
Polly27 on Nov 12, 2012 at 15:28:37
“Happy house. Just think of the wonderful memories your children will have, once they get through that awkward "I'm ashamed of everything my parents say and do." stage? Hang on. It will pass. And they will pass this on to their children. Thanks for the reply.”
“Haha, nanny nanny boo boo, & I feel so sorry for you Mitt, NOT! Sorry, couldn't help it. Took me back to my playground years when I saw your post :)
This was awesome for Sonia to go see Abby & let kids & parents all over the USA know that their dreams can live on. Sonia is a super role model, & I'm so glad to see public broadcasting survive to see another day, another year, another century!!”
