Why Having an Only Child Rocks

Why Having an Only Child Rocks

Commented Aug 31, 2012 at 09:48:30 in Parents

“Really sad that teachers and school staff pre-judge kids like that. Can you also spot the children of huge quiverfull families the second you meet them? The kids of single parents? Divorce? Same-sex parents? How about just letting people be people and not peddle long-dispelled myths about how kids without siblings universally "are."”

“To answer your question, yes you can. People are people and the way they are raised determine the way the act in the future. You can pretend that it doesn't if that makes you happy, but yes I can tell a lot about a person by simple observation and so can most people that take the time. Not everyone fits into a neat little box, and peoples upbringings don't necessarily dictate what type of person they will grow into. However, as any psychiatrist can tell you, you can tell a lot about a person within 5 minutes of meeting them. That is not good or bad, just simple truth. I didn't say only children were bad or good, that depends on a lot more than just having or not having siblings, but they are easy to spot. Same with kids that grow up in large families, and divorced families.”
