“He means well but he is not Presidential material. Our country needs a stronger leader and someone not ready to take the last dollar out of our pocket to redistribute. Everyone knows its not the rich that are going to shoulder his mistakes but the middle class.”
Pizza Guy on Oct 3, 2011 at 16:56:25
“How is Obama "going to take your last dollar" to redistribute?
FACT: Over the last ten years, wealth has been distributed to the wealthy even more. The wealthiest Americans are wealthier than they were 10 years ago.
FACT: Current taxes, as a % of GDP (which measures actually taxes collected compared to the size of the economy) ARE LOWER THAN THEY HAVE BEEN IN FIFTY YEARS!!”
ReagansHeroes on Oct 3, 2011 at 16:54:00
“We've seen throughout this class warfare debate that the "rich" as defined by President Obama pay 80% of all taxes and the IRS came out last week and said that the rich pay twice as much effective tax rate as their secretaries (notice the President doesn't use that line any more).
Tax rates for all tax payers will fast approach the 57% of Sweden in 2020 when the total debt is over $20 trillion, Medicare possibly defaults in 2024 like the trustees predict, and Social Security fails in 2034 as their trustees predict.
The days of low tax rates and high standard of living are not in the next generation's future.”

“What few people are hearing/reading about is the State of North Dakota with an unemployment rate of 3% - where they are pumping oil and unemployment is nowhere to be seen.. Guess what, the oil companies are having a devil of a time getting approval from Washington,D.C. Regulations, regulations, not green enough for Mr. Obama or his cronies or just plan not enough money for them! The article was in the Wall Street Journal - a must read. Obama wants green - so when he leaves the White House it will be another Al Gore windfall!!! The article is in the Sat/Sunday edition.”

Let's start now, all you so-called hate wall street people for their immoral practices - start by paying all your taxes. I hate to imagine the money that goes untaxed by Hollywood because of our outdated tax system. The really rich will always find a tax haven and again all the middle class will pay and pay again. Soros - he is out for Soros and "power".”
“Just politics my friends, just politics. It's a shame this country has to watch this nonsense go on when we have such difficult times ahead. This is not a cause for a first lady, nor does she want to shop at Target. This is for 2012. The American people are smarter than that Mrs. Obama!”

“What nonsense is that? You guys have a warped view of just about everything. That is not smart. And you've just proved that your mental acuity couldn't possibly be anywhere near that of Mrs. Obama, a cum laude graduate of Princeton, who also earned her J.D. from Harvard. Now, care to show us why you think we should listen to any of what you have to say about Mrs. Obama?”
“Innocent until proven guilty - that's a joke. Well if this article proves to be correct Thomas can join the Club that includes Waters, Rangel and God knows how many more of our elite politicians. Maybe instead of taxing the "so-called rich" (which will never happen and Obama knows it) we can start recouping all the back taxes, etc. from our astute members of Congress/Senate and leave the elderly and middle-class alone. Especially the elderly who are already feeling the pinch from Obama.”

“It just doesn't stop with the government's waste of money. Be either Democrat or Republican the American people have got to shout loud and clear that the wasteful spending must stop. These politicians just keep believing they can either keep taxing us for more wasteful spending or print it until we are all broke.”
“Its time to have laws passed where breeding is outlawed until such time as we have animal population control. All our animals have either come from shelters or were found on the street. I have yet to see an unappreciative adopted stray. They know.”
orcnelf on Sep 26, 2011 at 17:02:30
“Animal population control, eh? Are you aware that there are some shelters that are importing dogs from Mexico, Puerto Rico and other countries because the shelters don't have enough adoptable dogs locally to keep up with demand in their area? Yes, many dogs are euthanized, and many of them should not be, but because there is so much demand for small dogs, they're being imported, without any health checks or clearances, from areas where diseases and genetic issues are prevalent--thus putting US populations of humans and canids alike in danger of contracting diseases which we are not prepared to fight.”
BeautifulWorld on Sep 26, 2011 at 15:50:19
“We need more professional breeders, not less. Fact is a lot of the shelter dogs that appear nervous, hyper, fearful, etc. are that way not because of abuse but due to weak nerves. They're mongrels of unknown origin. Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds are popular breeds with law enforcement because having been bred with specific characteristics makes them suitable for the work needed. Purebreds have purpose. You know what you're getting. Research breeds, consider your needs and choose accordingly. If this were done more often, and if veterinary fees were lowered there would be FAR LESS dogs in shelters.”
pemmom on Sep 26, 2011 at 10:12:54
“Over 75% of all dogs in the US are already spayed and neutered. Get some fact, not overblown PETA rhetoric. PETA isn't all that trustworthy - they've killed over 90% of every dog that came into their "shelter". You trust them?”

“What a total waste of money. If is true 20 million - I just read an article from the SPCA International that talks about a dog whose legs were crushed by Iraqi children (monsters) and how our soldiers gave him food and shelter. The SPCA is seeking donations for these animals who are helped by our soldiers.
Perhaps the future Mr. & Mrs. could spare some of the 20 million and donate to our soldiers and their adopted pets across the World. What a waste reading about individuals who might crash their wedding.”

“Its time to bring the corporations home from overseas with jobs for Americans. Congress must agree on some sort of tax cut for these corporations to come back. As long as they receive better tax breaks outside the country our environment will never turn around. The U.S. Government cannot employ the entire nation. A bigger government is not the answer. Americans have and always will build better products. Let's forget rich and poor and who owes who, pressure must be put on Congress and Obama to get things moving. Americans whether you are a republican, democratic or independent should forget your parties lines and as a country demand more from Congress and Obama. Whether you like the Tea Party or not they united for a cause and were successful. Cities and Towns should hold rallies and should our government just how angry we are.”

“Example of media distortion: the evening news (Brian W) covered Pres. Obama in Iowa by comparing his appearances which were attended by huge crowds with a nearby one being held by a Tp group of a mere 2 dozen people!!!!!!! Yet, the news didn't find it important to point out the difference in numbers....just that there were appearances by both. This is not even handed reporting and it gives a grossly slanted view of the significance of the Tpers overall.”
Chudye on Aug 19, 2011 at 14:41:30
“The thing is even though corporations do technically have a 35% tax rate, due to loopholes and legal write-offs, they don't realistically have nearly that. In fact and according to tax policy analysts at the Heritage Foundation, while this nation does have an "official" high tax rate, few corporations pay it; and thus, the effective tax rates that corporations pay actually puts their tax rates closer to the middle of the pack (of other nations). As an example, they report that while the US has one of the highest tax rates for investments in machinery financed with equity, it offers a generous deduction for investments in machinery funded by debt.
And if you think the Tpers have been successful due to a grass roots effort, you would be wise to open your eyes and ears. The majority of Tpers are the ultra white right (funded by Corporate America the likes of the (o(k brothers) with only one objective: to take their country back (code for a return to the 50s when everyone who wasn't white (non-Jewish) knew their places).
The real key to the future success of this country is education which will enable voters to learn how to vote in their own best interests. Right now, the majority of voters choose to elect the candidate that gets the most media coverage...by having to listen to journalists that only care about ratings and sound bites...not facts.”
“In reply to those concerned about the federal sales tax in lieu of income tax should realize that people in the upper tax bracket would be paying more tax based upon their spending. There are no loopholes here - just groceries to be bought, automobiles and many other costly luxury items. The lower income people would not pay as much because in most instances their purchases would be less costly. Those not paying ANY INCOME tax (because they earn everything in CASH AND ENJOY ALL SERVICES ) would then join the rest of us who do. I believe this is very fair to all.”
FlamingSword on Aug 19, 2011 at 14:21:21
“Since lower income people already pay sales tax, then it is interesting. The only problem is it would be in addition to what they already pay cutting into their already LOW net income. Although the wealthy would probably pay more in comparison than they do now, it is unfair to the working poor unless there is reasonable exceptions. The Fair Tax as it has been pushed by so many Republicans is a consumption tax. Truly, most of the wealthy buy more high end products, but it would not outweigh the impact on the low income people already struggling to survive day to day. Think it through from the eyes of the lowest of the low in our nation who are struggling.”
123dee on Aug 19, 2011 at 14:15:59

“There was a comment regarding raising taxes. Since 1/2 of the American population is not paying taxes why must the remaining half support all. We need a sales tax on a federal level. EVERYONE or almost EVERYONE has to pay for food, clothing, etc. The 11 million illegal aliens (although I believe there are more) and individuals requiring cash for services rendered will then participate in our tax structure.”
joyfulworld on Aug 19, 2011 at 12:18:39
“There you go, insisting that the poor should shoulder the entire load! A sales tax is the most regressive tax there is forcing those who cannot afford food to pay for those who have big problems deciding which yacht to buy. You really want people who earn less than $22,000 for a family of four to pay more taxes? How selfish.”
