"Binders Full of Women" Distracts From Debate's Focus on Workplace Issues

Commented Oct 17, 2012 at 23:50:37 in Business

“That comment is funny to me for a very different reason. In 1999 a company called Recruitsoft designed and built a Talent Relationship Management product. Starting in 2000 the company was being funded by Bain Capital. By 2002 and many $M's in Bain investment later the company had become the leading provider, as an ASP, to the F500 (including State Governments etc...) in North America. Eventually Global growth turned a small 75 person company into a global leader in Human Capital Management employing close to 1000 people. In 2005 they went public as Taleo (TLEO) and last year was purchased by Oracle (ORCL). Instead of combing through 'binders' Miitt could have done a quick search and found all of the female candidates he was looking for. I would have been happy to help him with our product.”
