“Naw pretty sure i read it. Where am i supposed to to purchase them for a not extreemly high price? Have Coal powered electricy? Ethanol most cars now say DO NOT USE ETHANOL. And if there were coal powered cars i could purchase it sure oil isnt the greatest thing but untill others are affordable and in plenty we must continue to use oil.”
“What kind of fuel do you use? Do you have Solor Panels on your house? Or do you have a Windmill powering your house? Oil isn't a problem crazy liberals like you are. Get education? Sorry i dont care if i type correct grammer on the internet. Go outside Idiot.”

“Didn't read the link, huh...,? Nevermind then....,You don't want solutions, you want status quo..., must be a conservative....,”
“Yes im sure bp loves spending millions of dolars trying to fix it and loves millions of dolares of their oil gushing into the ocean. THINK”
Freesia2 on May 31, 2010 at 15:44:23
“BP makes the amount it's cost them (so far) in about 3 days. In terms of worry about expense, to them this is pocket change. Money under the couch cushions. They're not worried about the money. Right now all they're worried about is how to position this pluggging and cleanup in a way that guarantees their future drilling. They're going to hold that gulf hostage if they can.”
“My dad got it for 40 some weeks when it ran out it ran out he found a job and on with life.
Our country is broke and cannot afford to keep paying unemployment for 99+ weeks it ridiculous were just digging ourselfs deeper and deeper into debt and if we keep increasing the time you can draw umemployment people are not going to want to find jobs.”
gmb007 on May 28, 2010 at 01:03:04
“We can't keep paying our unemployed, but we sure can keep sending American jobs overseas by the hundreds of thousands, can't we? How twisted and perverse is that logic?
And why is it we never have trouble spending ENDLESS money on two WARS?”
“I did not say Fox News is always right, I simply said if you don't like it turn it off. I don't like Keith Olbermann I don't think he should be taken off the air. I just choose not to watch. I suppose Becks advertisers did change the channel but not until they were petitioned by some on the left.”
sekigahara on Oct 6, 2009 at 21:43:53
“No one has ever said that Fox is always right - well, no one with a clue, mind you - but while the action best for you to not liking a program is turning it off, for others it is asking advertisers to consider not selling their wares on such a show.
The advertiser then asks, "Why? Selling my products there makes me money."
To which some potential customers might express, "Do as you will - just not with money I'd otherwise be spending to purchase your products."
This, quite simply, is organized, grass roots action to bring about a change in the face of what is unacceptable. Close your eyes and look away and everything will be fine? No. It is making the statement, Changing the channel is simply tacit acceptance by silence and much of what Beck says and certainly some specific things he has said - for me the overwhelming intellectual dishonesty of the guy - is unacceptable.”
“As i've said I'm not the typical conservative, I didn;' really think the dixie chicks should have been boycotted. I didn't like what they said, I just didn't listen to their music. If you don't like Fox News don't watch.”
“I dont happen to agree with that comment that Glenn Beck made. But there are alot of people who genuinely disagree with obama and are simply called racist. I just don't like his policies, no what color his skin is”
Fotios on Oct 6, 2009 at 18:00:43
“I haven't seen anyone call you a racist on here yet. But I do see you setting up straw men. Good try.”
“I am just saying if you don't like Glenn Beck or Fox News don't watch it. I am probably not a typical conservative. I'm really not religious, so I don't go to church. I just don't happen to think that anything that refers to God should be banned from sight like some on the left do”
Fotios on Oct 6, 2009 at 17:59:26
“What Beck is saying is untrue and dangerous and illegal if the FCC decided to enforce defamation laws again.”
sekigahara on Oct 6, 2009 at 16:44:17
“Such things are not banned from sight. Simply banned from public property or prohibition of specific religious sects receiving government endorsement and support - which is in accordance with our Constitution.”
“i personally have no problem with Stern, as for the dixie chicks, they were disrespectful of a sitting president. At least they weren't called racist because they disliked President Bush.”
FGDinVA on Oct 6, 2009 at 16:58:46
“This doesn't sound in the least little tiny bit hypocritical to you?
People burned their cds in bon fires. Protested outside their concerts. They received de.ath threats. All for saying that because of George W. Bush, they were ashamed to be from Texas. Call in the freakin' well-ordered militia.
How about Sen. DeMint (R-SC), going to Honduras to give a pat on the back to the military hunta that ousted the democratically-elected president and thanked them for upholding democracy? Honduras - a country that the United States does not officially recognize? And he went even though he was asked not to go. Or do you even know about this? Maybe they don't report these things on Fox News.”
sekigahara on Oct 6, 2009 at 16:47:23
“But they were, indeed, boycotted.
Hence, the idea that only liberals boycott and conservatives change the channel - or in this case, simply stopped buying the Dixie Chicks records, is not the reality.
And there are other examples out there disproving your assertion.”
schmoozer on Oct 6, 2009 at 15:02:37
“They were call un-American because they didn't agree with President Bush. Remember, you're either with us or against us and anyone who didn't agree with his approach was considered against America... sad

“didn't Glenn Beck call Obama a racist? Yet you don't care he's still on tv?”
“But it's really pretty simple, if you don't like Glenn Beck, don't watch him. I don't care for msnbc I just don't watch it. If the left chooses to that's their buisness. Fox News has the highest ratings of any news channel, so apparently someone is watching it.”
sekigahara on Oct 6, 2009 at 16:55:31
“Because Fox is watched by some relative number does not make it gospel, or any less intellectually dishonest.
That said, if advertisers determine that their advertising dollar is better spent elsewhere, are they not free to spend it elsewhere?
Is this not essentially advertisers simply changing the channel?”
“Why is it that when a conservative doesn't like a talk show host or news broadcaster, they pick up the remote and change the channel. When a liberal doesn't want to watch something they start a boycott to try to prevent anyone from watching it. The tv remote is a great invention, liberals really should try using it.”

“This is simply a lie.
The "Florida Family Assn" has run massive email campaigns to their followers flood advertisers (including web page "click here" robo-emails) against:
- Currently: Family Guy. Describing an episode poking fun at Christianity by using slanted language to describe the show as if it regularly (seriously) preaches anti-christian hate-speech as opposed to over the top sarcasm.
- Previously: Any show on LOGO channel (gay and lesbian aimed channel). Claiming "Any Child" could see these deviant programs, but failing to state that "Any Parent" can simply block LOGO channel using simple codes provided during scanner setup.
- Previously "Playboy's Girl Next Door", etc from the E! channel. Using the same "Any Child" ruse, stating they were the only "prngraphic" show on non-pay cable.
- They are regularly trying to get hotel chains to remove adult PPV channels, even though guests can, again, be blocked at the set or front desk easily.
They regularly BOAST and BRAG about which advertisers have capitulated to their campaigns, and which ones still need to "turn up the heat".
To say that conservative groups don't try to smother dissent is simply a LIE.”

“The conservatives rewrite history on a regular basis. Look at what's happening in Texas about the history textbooks. Plus, I just read a story about the rewriting of the Bible, for heaven's sake! It's not "conservative" enough for the wingnuts.”

“You may have a point. When a conservative does not like a business that promotes equality for all, they boycott the business. Do the called boycotts of Ford and Disney ring any bells?”

Conservatives waged a vicious campaign against Bill Maher in 2001 and he was removed in 2002. And media boycotts were heavily used by the moral majority in the 80s.”
