“Why is this Obama's problem? And why am I having to pay the bill for this clean up? Those people living down there have pushed for years for this type of off-shore drilling. Now let them live with it. They don't care about the environment all they care about is where they can get their next paycheck.
Let the Republicans clean up this mess they created. Jindal the Repub. Governor has never wanted any part of the Government in his backyard, so why ask for it now. There are actually more important things going on in America then a man made oil spill, do you think we could get the President to concentrate on those things. All the Repub Governors along the coast can clean up their own mess they created with off shore deep sea drilling.”

“Republicans can't even come up with a legitimate comparison to the real world. "Without a verification requirement it's essentially like posting a 55-mph speed limit and not having any highway patrol on the road," said Ira Mehlman, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
On any given day you can pass three highway patrol and still people are driving by at 70-80 mph.
If they think that is the only problem they can yell at publicly then they have some serious problems. I don't want to see illegal's from mexico and europe covered under the planbut come on people don't show how stupid you really are.”

“Palin never gets the point of a conversation and most of the time neither do her followers. I knew right off the bat he was talking about Bristol which makes his jokes hilarious. After all it's pretty darn incredulous to go around talking about abstinence and family values when you had premarital sex under the age of 18 ended up knocked up and now live off from the notoriety of it all.

Sarah Palin only hears what she turn around and spin the right way.

And as for Prejean, it's never o.k. to go around preaching that only a certain few have civil rights in this country. If you think it's o.k. how about we put slavery on the ballot and have it say every working brown person can own one white person who doesn't work ,and see if it will pass. Will that make it law?”

howdyfromtexas on Jun 11, 2009 at 14:08:25

“I am white and I would vote for that law. There are way more white people on welfare rolls than brown.
I am from Texas though and everyone works here, Lowest employment rate in the country.

Prejean said she thinks marriage is between a man and a woman. Why is she not allowed to have this opinion, its the same as Obama's..

Clinton and Obama both use drugs and speak out against them but Bristol is not allowed to talk about sex ?”

wtexannie on Jun 11, 2009 at 14:03:45

“As far as "talking about abstinence and family values when you had premarital sex under the age of 18", have you ever heard the expression, "cautionary tale"? When the actor, Yul Brenner, was dying of lung cancer due to smoking, he made a famous commercial where he warned people not to smoke. I guess that was "pretty darn incredulous" of him. But I also thought, pretty brave. I also think it takes some bravery at 18 to step into the public and say, "don't do what I did". But that's just me.”

Counties were collecting exorbitant amounts of property taxes over the last couple of years and yet no funds went into buildings. It went into the pockets of elected officials. Figure it out people. “I pulled my own 7 year old from public school because it was awful. Fortunately I was able to get him into a charter school free of charge. An entirely different philosophy of teaching; something the public school system lacks. This country has always been about choice and Charter schools deserve to be funded at equal to the so called public school system.
No one should HAVE to send their kids to public school. But we also shouldn't have to pay thousands for an education.
It's about time someone recognizes the legitimacy of Charter schools.”

Now that the fraud has been exposed and taken away so is the 6,000 points that were gained in the last six years. Wall STreet has been a fraud for the last six years. Whom do you trust to guard against fraud in the future? To what degree do we have a moral imperative to punish the defrauders? (The general legal principle is that there is no statute of limitations on fraud.)”

“Empowering young girls is the answer. I'm 37 now and during my high school years I watched cousins and friends get pregnant. I'm American Indian and so the teen pregnancy rate is high. Fortunately I had a mother who not only empowered me but scolded me forcefully for wanting to be like the other girls. Today I have a son who is 7 while my cousins and friends have 18 years olds and I'm watching them live the same lives as their parents. I am by no means the perfect parent but I am truthful with my child about life and what it has to offer. Individuals have to live with the choices they make in life so think before you act; understand your options before you decide. Children are never too young to learn to live life that way. Empowering young girls is what I believe the answer to be especially for those living in poverty like conditions; the same as me.”
