“Dear Ariel, you are mistaken. I have no "advice" to offer... I was really questioning the source of your anger. You may be in a physically warm and cozy place, but from your writing, it appears that you exist in an emotionally frozen one.
Wishing you well in dealing with whatever challenges are going on in your life.

“Dear Ariel, Who said I am sold on the "how to live your life" nonsense? I would never presume to tell someone else how to live their life. Heck, I have enough trouble with my own.
Life is never simple, living a GOOD and examined life can be even harder. Don't worry, there is lots of @#$@ in my life; its not pain free by any means....
However, within the limitations that are there, I simply do the best I can and actively seek ways to improve my own life and that of others in whatever ways I can find. And if that means bringing a homeless person in from the cold, then so be it. My attitude is that while we can't help everyone, we can help SOMEONE, so I actively search for that someone who is in the unique spot in life to need someone even as flawed as me, to do something for THEM.
I challenge myself to see the glass as half full, even when it appears like it is almost empty. How about you?”
“-45 with wind chill in Ottawa... The seats in cars freeze and don't give when you sit down; its like sitting on a frozen rock (this was in the days before heated seats). Cars do NOT like to start at that temperature, and tires get a bit of a flat spot where they were resting on the ground. Exposed skin freezes within minutes... This was reason enough to get the HECK out of there as quickly as possible to a more civilized climate!”

“Aww, but don't you miss that off-kilter thumping until your tires hard warmed up enough to smooth out again? Or those mornings you forgot to plug the block heater in, and your lights are giving that ominous flickering as your engine won't catch?”

“Gee, I thought I had it bad here in LA when it got down to 38 degrees last night.”
“LoL. Nice try. You can bury your head in the sand if you wish, but these reports are appearing around the world... Our only salvation appears to be in the fact that the ENTIRE international community opposes our President.”
"AS PROTESTS against financial power sweep the world this week, science may have confirmed the protesters' worst fears. An analysis of the relationships between 43,000 transnational corporations has identified a relatively small group of companies, mainly banks, with disproportionate power over the global economy."”
“Re: Practice random acts of kindness-change the world
I'm trying. And some days are genuinely surprised as the response of overwhelming gratitude, most of which occurs in big cities. I think it's getting way too cold out there.”
“Then why is the US pushing these corporate powers?”
The Ghost In The Machine on Dec 8, 2013 at 22:44:26
“Because the United States is a Corporation in some way. I have read legal documents which refer to the United States as the "The United States of America Corporation" when working for a regulatory body. Supposedly it was formed using the Act of 1871 where upon the District of Columbia was formed. It is an interesting read at the least.”
“Clearly since we can't beat them at their game ($), we have to create our own game and find another way.
Lets start with becoming informed about the "food" we put into our bodies, choose the healthiest options we can afford and leave their @#$@# frankenfood sitting on the shelves. From there, we go to informing our friends and family and let the 'butterfly effect" help with the rest.
If you want to learn about our "food" system, I highly recommend reading "The Omnivore's Dilemma".
If we "vote with our feet", they won't have anyone to buy their @#@#. ”

“Thanks for the info but I usually just read about WW2, do campaigns for PZ2 morphed version. I'm around 60 so going to eat what I want, kills me so be it. At least I didn't sell out taste as Wendy's or the DQ's French fries have. I do sometimes flip a coin on either 2 eggs or 3. Usually though every other day I eat donuts or something else and in a Blue Moon cereal or oats. Next thing you know Bill will want to change my hamburger. Drawing up the Declaration of War as I type. Don't do it Billy Gates or you won't get to enjoy those Billions!”
“Buck, don't you see? The GOP is at least as corrupt as the Dem party. They TALK a good game, but if you examine deeper than the empty words, it reveals a cesspool. BOTH sides use taxpayer money to pay off their political allies, big business and their deep pocketed donors. What on earth makes you think WE even register on their richter scale?
Do you not wonder why NO ONE raised a peep when they repealed much of the STOCK Act from last year - which was supposed to make congress accountable for insider trading that would send any of the rest of us to jail? They ALL pushed it through under cover of darkness and not one of our "representatives" said a word at the time.
The devil's in the details. How do you think the GOP would cut govt expenses by 25%? What would they cut? What would they leave in and expand?
Seriously, Buck, what does "freedom" mean to you? Honestly, I am wondering.”
BuckCarson on Dec 9, 2013 at 16:26:31
“Of course, business is going to suck their blood, which we donate, they make that explicit. They know that and make it their game and set it out for the world to see. That's honorable. We can deal with that.
We know, we encourage, that in business. Cut government. It's its own corporation when run by the left. Cut government, and it doesn't matter if its really the right. Cut their never ceasing expansion. That's the focus, that's the criterion for slashing.
You need to stop being both victim AND judge and start being free. Put your pants on and THEN you'll understand "freedom".
To me you sound trapped in a cubicle, angry, with not enough courage to do what you want. That's what happens when you chain yourself to mediocrity/safety without ever experiencing "courage".
Finally, the opposite of fear is faith. Faith is the same as Courage. Please don't ask for more from me on this. Deal with it yourself. But, there is much in that statement. Someday you will understand that deeply.”
“Gates is also in an unholy alliance with Montsanto, intent to change the way we eat....
How about we decide for ourselves, Bill?”
savannahswithgod on Dec 8, 2013 at 22:00:07
“We'll have to sellout ourselves in the end, it all follows the money trail. This moment in time I got 300 dollars. You got? If I take you are twice as rich as me that makes $900. Last count Gates and Monsanto together had 901 I'm thinking?”
“Don't you wonder why the secrecy if its above board? Ask why the corporations can know what's in the deals - and heck, they can even WRITE the darned things, and we can't know - until they have finalized the contracts.
There have been articles saying the same things as this, published all over the world.”
