“OK...lets get this straight: Gwen writes a book called "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama." Now, I like a lot of other folks, have no doubt that Obama will win this election and be inaugurated on January 20th. So the hardcover of Gwens book sells for 24.95. Typically an author get say $3.00 for each copy.
Still with me?
Assuming Obama wins and the book is released on January 20th, and say in the next couple of weeks it sells 100,00 copies. That means our friend Gwen makes $300,000,00
Now, if on Nov 4th Obama does NOT wind - AND - the Gwen's' Book "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" breaks on January 20th - and JOHN MCCAIN is sworn in as President...How many copies does Gwens book sell? 12? 28? 107?
THAT is the conflict. She has a vested interest in Obama winning. A monetary interest. And it was upo to Gwen to tell the election debate people in the spirit of full disclosure that she had the book in the works and it was due out on THAT date.
Next she could have suggested that the commission tell each campaign about the book and release date, and if they had no objection or discomfort about it - that she would be happy to moderate.
Is that plain enough?”

“It will sell regardless if Obama wins or not. It's on the history of black politics. Think of all the inspired successful African American who will buy it because they are now interested in politics.”

“That argument ranks up there with I have foreign policy experience because I can see Russia from my house, or Because I say that I'm the commander in cheif of my state's National Guard that makes it so. There is no conflict. What you narrow minded republicans fail to realize is that because of your whining you just made her money. Gwen Ifill has been a straight up journalist her entire career and has moderated debates before so there is no conflict”

“Alternatively we could forego all of your speculation and look at facts. The book was first advertised and up for pre-order months ago. Google Gwen Iffel and you find it.
Are you telling us that the McCain campaign and all of the Conservative pundits who have spent months digging up tenuous Obama associations and contorting them to look like something sinister didn't Google "Gwen Iffel" prior to 48 hours before the debate?!
This is nonsense. Besides, Iffel was terrible. If Thursday night were a real debate and Iffel a real moderator, Palin would have gotten torched when she didn't answer the question or had no facts to back up her untruths. What the hell are you complaining about?”
“ahhh...knumbskulls...lots of people in AK use tanning beds and salons - cause of the light deprivation thing...duh, you dopes.”

“got a link or are you just stating an opinion.....? My mother and sister live in AK as I did for years and I can only recall one place that had a tanning bed and that was a healthclub in Anchorage.... I never met anyone that had a tanning bed to cope with low light.... You can buy lighting systems for under 300bucks to cope with biological light-related issues and most doctors know that....
“I can't be the only one that feels queasy about this religious thing going on w/ O' Bama supporters?”

“Hating the religious is just as bigoted as religious hatred.”

“What makes me queasy are the people who shouted that their civil liberties were being wiped out are the same people who shout when someone brings up religion in any content. Yeah yeah church and state but this is supposed to a free country.”

“I am an Obama supporter and a devout atheist/agnostic so you don't have to be 'religious' to get the momentum of Obama and this video. Change can be a secular issue as well. And hopefully non-partisan.”

“no you're not, but many dems/indies do affiliate with a religion...you're just not comfortable with it.”

“Obama is no messiah and neither was Reagan. Both men have something about them that inspire the masses of people. One, only served a few however.”
“I heard that Air America just re-hired Jeneane Garofalo for ....$123.50 a week,
that Rachel Maddow is considering chucking MSNBC to go back cause of a salary increase to $11.25 hr, and that when he loses his race Al Franken will get another salary boost ( lets hope they dont have to steal it from another boys club) - yeah this time he'll be getting star billing and almost $14,000.00 a year.
Nothing succeeds like success.”
