“She's a good looking girl but I agree with most of the commenters here that this photo doesn't belong in a yearbook. And she doesn't have any legal right that I'm aware of to force the editors to print this particular picture of her. So I'm not sure why she would seek any kind of legal counsel on this issue. I'm sure pictures like this pop up often in yearbooks every year so why is this big internet news I've seen on multiple major websites? Maybe because Olivia Wilde getting her freaking hair cut qualifies as big internet news. Le sigh.”

“Why are we teaching our children to ignore the basic findings of biology, genetics, geochemistry and archeology? I understand that many believers will never be able to accept that Genesis is figurative rather than literal. But I also think it is just as beautiful to learn that we share such deep connections to other kinds of life on earth and that we developed from the same biological material.”

“We lag behind many other countries in at least one supremely critical area: education. Several CEOs including those of top tech companies have said that in order to stay competitive they need to recruit outside the US because their candidates have superior education and training and they can't afford to pass on these people. We should show "Waiting for Superman" to every American and see whether American Exceptionalism stands as strongly as it did before. In political standoffs at any government level, education is almost always the first major area to face cuts in funding. Teachers are told, "Those who cannot do, teach. Get a real job where you actually DO something." What else would you come to expect from a nation whose view of science is increasingly scornful?”

“Not sure why "Dexter" got totally snubbed. Granted, it hasn't been its best season but Michael C. Hall has been as good as ever and Colin Hanks has done a great job as Travis.”
