“Most likely a large majority never wanted insurance in the first place ( at least not the mandatory requirement)”

“I mean, I'm no expert, but this is pretty important because if it's a small number who need a procedure done these funds could be gathered on multiple kick-starter sites. If a kickstarter site had a guy that needed 50k for a liver I'd be willing to bet we would be able to raise it without having to go thru insurance cost, lawyer costs, etc.....”
“The facts show these are the policies which led to the decline and failure. The same policies are supported by many liberal politicians around the country and they don't back down from the term nor their policies. Why is it a problem to point out where such policies have failed?”
“And this is why we should not trust the government with our well being.
Oh and the 30 - 40 million without heath care who were pawns in the Liberal scheme to take over the health care industry in the USA - they still lack heath care while 260 million are now at risk.
Well done Democrats...I think maybe it's time they stopped driving the car into the ditch for a while and took remedial learning classes.”

“Yes and that's is why the Republicans have total control on this argument right now. It's because the uninsured people are still uninsured. My other question, Of the 40 million people who are currently uninsured, how many just don't want insurance?”
“Corruption in the long line of Democrats who led the city is a primary factor as well.
They used tax payer dollars to bribe voters through increased benefits and public give aways just so they could stay in power and this led to the cities financial ruin. Seem very similar to what Democrats are doing at a national level as well.
Better leaders would have maintained a balanced budget or had a surplus they could use in rough times. however, in a city with an entitlement culture, one can't win elections by having ethics and good management skills. So the con artists and crocks tend to sway the uneducated masses to win elections and enrich themselves while not caring a stitch about the devastation they leave behind.
And then there are the liberal excuse makers who will always find an angle to blame others and not hold their own accountable.”

“Right as long as you have the democrats( who were likely being advised by crooked GOP) to blame, you can always ignore the OTHER elephant in the room.”

“When you throw the word "liberal" into an argument, you lose all credibility for being an objective observer....”
“you make a very good point and there are other examples similar to this which need to be considered. These is a political agenda at the heart of articles like these.
Another example: 5% of the American population have had their insurance policies cancelled due to Obama Care and it is projected that up to 50% cancellations will occur before Nov 2014. That is potentially up to 150 Million people negatively affected.
Of those, many will find that the new policies are unaffordable so will opt to just pay the penalty tax and try their luck on their own. If just .01% of the 50% affected die because of their health care being taken away that will be 15,000 deaths directly related to Obama Care. And, this is a very conservative estimate not counting the negative impact on elderly through reduction of Medicare benefits.
So while 900 deaths are a sad reality of the violence due to mentally disturbed individuals, shouldn't the other real story be about the pending disaster which is intentionally being inflicted on the American people through Obama Care?”
“Great idea from the Democrats. Ram through 2,700 pages of the worst written legislation in the history of the country on a 100% party line vote, vote for it without reading the details, then blame the opposing party for not supporting amendments.
Only one amendment is needed to fix this disaster. Repeal it in it's entirety and start from scratch. You can't fix something this bad - rather it can only be made worse.
The other fix is to vote out of office every politician who supported the American Affordable Insurance Act. There will be millions who suffer severe negative consequences and hopefully they will remember the Democrats who are at fault come election day.”
Imbrium66 on Oct 28, 2013 at 09:32:48
“So what, precisely, are the problems. You keep saying it's so bad yet you have nothing to back it up. All bills are meant to be amended and frankly the bill was modeled after a similar bill in Mass. that -Romney- passed.
As for the worst written legislation in the history of the country, that's your opinion, not fact whatsoever. If you think otherwise then please go prove it. ”
“Agree with many of your points but not the one trying to pin any portion of this disaster on the Republicans. This legislation was all the Democrats doing and they wanted to go it alone (without a bi-partisan approach).
A different approach, which involved the Republicans and valued their ideas would have turned out more successful.”
“Nice try - when you have nothing thougtful to say - just go on the attack. typical liberal approach to any disagreement.”

“Typical you, you have no clue as to my politics.. you know not whether I am liberal, moderate, libertarian, or progressive... you on the other hand belong to the knucklehead set.... as so aptly demonstrated by your silly comment.”
Craig DeBoard on Oct 25, 2013 at 23:28:39
“"Typical liberal"???? Really?? You are EXACTLY what is wrong with this country.”
“So let get this straight. The Democrats single handedly forced the worst written legislaton in the history of the USA upon it's ciitzens without even reading what they voted for and now will blame the Republicans for it's failure because the Repulicans refuse to take change and fix all the problems with the legislation.
This is what is wrong with Democrats - they never take accountability for their actions. Understand that many of their actions are stupid - but they should at least admit the actions they took are leading to the looming disaster.
When Obama care worsens as it surely will, as it is so poorly thought out, it will lead to a defining vote by the American people to boot out of office every politician who voted for this nightmare.”

“Accountability? Fine? The economy was screwed up before Obama was even voted in for his first term. Historical fact. So yeah....there's that.”
CDAH on Oct 25, 2013 at 22:48:34
“If you had read my post, I actually said that I blame the Democrats most for exactly what you said. That doesn't mean I don't give Republicans any share of the blame, but Democrats are ultimately at fault for not anticipating that their bill would be a failure, even if Republicans would be a big part of the reason why. Democrats rammed a giant bill through Congress without giving it enough time to be crafted where it would work immediately upon implementation. They should have been smart enough to know that Republicans would not cooperate with a work-in-progress, but they obviously weren't. Republicans have their blame, but the biggest fault rests on Democrats for pushing through a bill that logic should have told them would not work.”
“Wishful thinking. The heathcare issue will become a disaster for Democrats in the 2014 elections with many house Democrats and those Senators up for election defeated.
Hard to say if this will be enough to turn the Red tide controlling th ecountry but let's remain hopeful.”

“If you think the website (which is not the healthcare, but more like the menu, by the way) will not be working for two years. Well go on. In two years the Cruz, Palin, Bachman, Rush, Tea Baggers, the Shut Down, Rand Paul and the memory of all the insanity will still be the face of the GOTP. Romney was going to be President, remember??”

“Your thinking was diminished before your thought even hit the page.”
"The bumpy rollout of the federal Supplemental Security Income program in the early 1970s might be the closest parallel for what could go wrong with Obamacare. In 1974, officials estimated 7.2 million would be eligible for the new initiative, which absorbed state welfare programs. But by 1976, only 4.3 million had signed up. (Today the program covers 8.3 million.) "
There have been multiple studies which have concluded there is massive fraud in the Supplemental SS Income program. This stems from the culture of focusing on making payments rather than verifiyin that people are eligible and that proper verification has been completed.
So if we compare the future of Obama care to other government programs (as above) then we can also conclude that there will be massive fraud and tax payer dollars will be wasted. Everything we have seen and heard of Obama care indicates the adminstration is going down the same path of little verification and will open the door wide to anyone who wants to defraud the system.
Of the 8.3MM on”

“Oh Ye of Little Faith..
You make a good argument except for the fact that there will be no government payouts. If you qualify for subsidies, they will be in the form of a tax subsidy and to get that you'd have to file an income tax return and an income tax return must be backed up with income documentation.”

“You and your friends need a nice deserted island in the Carribean or the south Pacific or maybe Somalia where you can settle, pay no taxes and live like kings off your huge savings. The rest of us need government programs to help live a better life. Do not judge. Simply haul thy ass out of here if its not to your liking.”
