“You claim to quote law but none of what you write is accurate. I doubt you are an attorney. But you might want to do some reading on the topic rather than just regurgitating Obama speeches.
What you and Obama are advocating is preventive detention. No habeaus rights, no due process, no constitution. This is based on alleged fear the person might do something in the future and it is a hallmark of a police state and tyranny. It is the exact same as Bush Cheney.
A problem here is the US constantly and hypocritically shifting designations of prisoners (most of whom did nothing and were sold to US by foreign govts and warlords for profit) based on what suits their desires. First, US says they are not in uniform so they are not POW's and Geneva doesnt apply, but wait they are not criminals either and dont deserve due process and the "war" will continue forever, not like WWII. So they are neither POW's or (alleged) criminals, and they have no rights whatsoever, how convenient.
Then US says, well if we have evidence against you we will have a trial, but if we have no evidence we will detain you indefinitely without a trial. Heads we win, tails you lose. And of course the "evidence" US has was coerced by torture.
And of course one more little fact, US invaded and occupied these lands and these "criminals and terrists" were DEFENDING their own lands and families from US agression.”
