“What a shame that the left in this country is attempting to make an issue of income inequality, playing to people's natural instinct to envy, rather than emphasizing the virtue of work and opportunity. The left's efforts to vilify and punish too much success is part of the reason that our country is in decline. Instead of emphasizing the great opportunities that capitalism provides to those who are willing to work hard and overcome obstacles, we have become a culture that increasingly attacks and punishes success, while excusing and rewarding failure and sloth. People now expect to be given things in the interest of "fairness" rather than having to earn them. Would the left be more happy if there was less "inequality" and more people languishing at the bottom? Because it is clear that their ideas increasingly are fostering such an outcome.”
“SOP (Standard Obama Procedure): 1. I didn't know anything about this. 2. Assure everyone that you will investigate and hold people responsible. 3. Do nothing and don't hold anyone responsible. 4. Refuse to turn anything material over to anyone who does seek to investigate and hold people responsible. 5. Slowly leak out a lot of material that doesn't reveal what really happened and who was involved. 6. Stonewall further efforts to investigate. 7. Eventually claim that the matter has been fully investigated, nothing improper was found, it is a "phony scandal" and the opposition party is on a political witch-hunt. 8. Accuse the opposition of racism.”

“It's hard for some liberals to like conservatives. Just like many poor people resent wealthy people for their financial success, many liberals resent conservatives for their superior wisdom and intellect. Contrary to the core beliefs of liberals, it's not compassionate to simply give people things in such as way as to make them unmotivated and dependent on handouts. Just as you don't help your children in the long run by giving them whatever they want regardless of whether they earned it, you also don't help people escape poverty by throwing money and other benefits at them that they haven't earned. There is a difference between maintaining a social safety net for the truly needy and imposing higher taxes on the wealthy under the guise of making them pay their fair share to fund more give away programs just so that liberals can feel better about themselves, at the same time destroying the free market economy and relegating generations of welfare recipients to a state of near-permanent poverty.”

“This looks like another effort by HuffPo to put lipstick on a pig. Even if these numbers are real and can be believed, which is hardly a given with this dishonest administration, the raw numbers still are pathetic and hardly can be considered a "surge." It's also unclear what they mean by "signups." Did these "signups" actually buy a policy or just shop for coverage? Much more importantly, are the signups the young and healthy, or high earners, who now have to overpay for coverage, some of which they may not need but now must get, to subsidize the old, sick and lower earners? (Doubtful) Or are the vast majority of these signups the old and/or sick and/or subsidy recipients (as most early evidence suggests have been the only ones signing up)? Without this kind of information, the numbers are meaningless and provide no reason for supporters of the law to celebrate.”
“Sadly, our President and his ilk don't realize that the more they try to redistribute in an effort to create more "fair" outcomes, the more they actually are taking out of the private sector, and the more they then kill spending, expansion of the economy and job creation, and the more they ultimately are hurting the middle and working classes. It is the people at the bottom who benefit the most from the growth of the private economy and who are hurt the most when it stagnates. These lefties' attempts to cure "income inequality" by simply trying to confiscate more money from those who are successful for purposes of inefficiently giving it away to people at the bottom (after the government takes its cut through waste and bureaucracy) just leads to less growth, more government dependency, greater income disparity and lower incomes for the people at the middle and bottom. As good as its intentions may be, socialism in its purist form or in its softer forms never has worked and never will. The most prosperous societies in the world always have been the ones which allow the most market freedom and enterprise through capitalism.”

“Our plan was cancelled because it did not offer the kind of mandated coverage that we do not need, such as pregnancy coverage, not because it was not a good plan. We had a very good Blue Cross plan with an extensive PPO network and low deductibles and low co-pays. The only "minimum standards" that it did not meet were those decided by the nanny state government that has no familiarity with our individual needs and no care what those are. The reason our plan was cancelled was so that coverage costs could be shifted to us for coverage of others for such things as pregnancy and contraceptive coverage. The fact that we don't want or need such coverage is irrelevant. And, because we were cancelled, after two weeks of trying, we finally did get on the website so that we could shop plans. Every one of them was WAY more expensive for comparable coverage than our existing plan. Higher premiums, higher deductibles and higher co-pays. So, NOW, thanks to Obamacare, I will have to pay more to see a doctor or go to a hospital. It's sad that you simply don't understand how the law works and its effects. You plainly are the very kind of low information voter whom the Democrats believe can be fooled by lies and demagoguery.”
“I didn't previously need a pile of cash to see a doctor or go to the hospital. I had a great Blue Cross policy, with an expansive PPO network, broad coverage for what I need, low deductible, low copay policy. But I now will need way more cash to see a doctor thanks to my much higher premium, much higher deductible, much lower co-pay policy that I have to buy to finance coverage that I don't need.”
“Are people like you actually for real or being serious? I had a Blue Cross plan with an excellent PPO network, with low premiums, low deductibles and low co-pays. Now, I have to pay $5000 more in annual premiums for a similar Blue Cross plan that actually has higher deductibles and co-pays, but now includes pregnancy, contraception, drug addiction and other coverage that I don't need or want just to finance other people's coverage for those things. It's very sad that you're so divorced from reality that you don't understand how this law works. And, you then tell someone that they are crazy for daring to expose the truth to people like you who apparently are living under a rock.”
osubest1 on Nov 15, 2013 at 18:02:44
“First of all, if your plan was so special, you would not have been cancelled. Being cancelled means that they could not meet MINIMUM STANDARDS. Furthermore, I am going to bet that you have not even gone on the web site or placed a phone call to see if there was a cheaper program for you that was better coverage. And may I remind you that you are now paying for millions of people who have no insurance. Every time one of them goes to the emergency room or into the hospital, your premiums are rising to cover that. So it is YOU who is living under a rock if you really believe that you had a great plan that was going to take care of you in a medical emergency. If it was that great, you would still have it.”
“First, Obama and the Dems start with a massive lie that, if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it. Then, they move to another massive lie that all or most of the cancelled policies somehow are substandard or are policies on which people cannot collect. (No. Most simply provided the coverage that people wanted at a price people were willing to pay. I know because my excellent, affordable policy got cancelled simply because it did not provide certain mandated coverage, such as pregnancy coverage, that I, as a man, don't need.) Now, the Dems want to pretend that they can make the law work by continually exempting people from it who are hurt by it. The problem is that the law is designed to hurt most people to pay for coverage for the old and sick. And now that this left wing imposition of "fairness" is starting to impact more than just the most wealthy, a lot of people are finding that socialism isn't such a great thing, It's about time!”
Drogo on Nov 15, 2013 at 14:04:18
“Sure there is pregnancy coverage in your plan....and prostate coverage in women's plans. That's what insurance is....mutual aid. Healthy people pay in and when they get sick they get support. If you want to go alone....go for it. Just don't go to the hospital when you get sick or get in an accident without a pile of cash ready to pay for everything yourself.”
osubest1 on Nov 15, 2013 at 13:52:06
“You are crazy. First of all, if you got cancelled, it is because you had a "junk plan" and it was more than not having maternity benefits. Those plans pay nothing when the time comes to use it. They are just as the name implies - junk. This affected less
than 5% of the country. Your party had no problem when Bush "Lied" about wmd, did you? Thousands of our children died from that lie. I don't know of anyone who has died because they were ask to upgrade their insurance to a policy that was real.”
“If you understood how the insurance market works, you would realize that insurance companies always make minor changes to policies based upon changes in the market. When the regulations were written, everyone knew that this would mean that almost no policies would be grandfathered and all of the new policies would have to comply with the new nanny-state dictates that force people to buy not what they want or what insurance companies are willing to offer, but rather, what the government says that you must have. It simply doesn't change the fact that the President lied when he said that, if you like your policy, you can keep it. Millions of us are being forced into higher premium, higher deductible, higher co-pay policies that provide coverage that we don't want or need. THAT is how the law works.”

“IF everything you say is true for you it is far from true for most folks and thus I say to bad but I will still take it.
If you are SO concerned for "people" being "covered" then work to get Medicaid Expanded in all the red states that won't do it because they are criminally insane or what?
If you are totally correct then you are making a VERY GOOD ARGUMENT for our nation switching to Medicare for all which solves every issue you have and many more.
I'm for that.
But if you are just "fallout" for what is a HUGE benefit for most folks then I am sorry but too bad.
Taste it and eat it and if you do not like it for real understand that your Republican unregulated market does that sort of thing to millions all the time.
just now it is YOUR turn so it bothers you.
When it was not your turn you did not care about any others.
So eat it.”
“It is not a whim of an insurance company when it cancels an excellent policy simply because it doesn't comply with the law. Nor is a policy substandard when it doesn't cover a man for pregnancy maternity costs. It's sad that we have a country in which so many people, like you, are so uninformed.”
Ithinkergo on Nov 2, 2013 at 15:41:12
“I see.... I am sooooooooo uninformed... not sure about what, motion?
Let's make a deal: when you men-baggers make it possible for women to specifically exclude testicle/prostate care of any kind from EVERY insurance policy (effectively having all you so-called men pay out-of-pocket whenever your weenie and around has a problem..), then I will consider excluding women's reproductive organs from insurance coverage.
“Nice try. I had better coverage for a lower premium before this law went into effect. But my insurance company was required to cancel the policy because it did not comply with the new government dictates, such as forcing me to pay for maternity coverage that I don't need. Unlike your hero, Nancy Pelosi, try reading the law and regulations before spouting off.”

If your Insurance Company had left the plan unchanged and kept it you would still have it.
The Law says so.
But They CHANGED it so now it has to be updated to meet modern standards.
They made that choice not the Government.
You got dropped because your Insurance Company "LOVES" you the same way Republicans "LOVE" all the millions of people they will not allow to have Medicaid because like your insurance company they are murderers and selfish pri$ks.”
“The loathsome lies are being told by liberals, who suggest that the healthcare policies that are being canceled somehow are substandard. (Are they now suggesting that Ford vehicles are substandard, too?) From personal experience, this notion being pushed by liberals to get around the big Obama lie about keeping your policies could not be further from the truth. What is true is that Obamacare now forces many of us to pay for coverage that we don't want and don't need. For example, there are no women of child-bearing age in my family. Yet, we MUST not purchase pregnancy coverage that we don't need and for which we don't want to pay. Likewise,we are willing to assume certain other healthcare risks. But the nanny state now says that we can't do that. So the liberals, as usual, are the utter and complete liars, not the people they accuse of lying. It's actually amusing hearing liberals twist themselves into knots trying to explain how the President didn't lie when he said that, if you like your coverage, you can keep it. Really?! We liked our coverage and we weren't allowed to keep it. Mr. President, your nose is growing again!”

“I have read the LAW twice.
In it are statements that are plain as day.
One of them is that if there are plans out there that do not meet modern standards they CAN be grandfathered in IF the insurance company does nothing to change them and thus keeps them as is. If the Insurance Company changes them at all then those plans are required to meet the standards and the old plan is thus obviated and subscribers are dropped into the exchanges instead of continuing their coverage on the old plan.
That is what is happening.
Insurance Companies are CHANGING their plans and dropping people off the old plans.
The LAW also say that if you do not buy a plan AND you do not pay the IRS Tax Penalty NOBODY can go after you and prosecute you.
That means if you want to ignore the FAKE individual mandate you can safely do so.”
Ithinkergo on Nov 2, 2013 at 14:16:32

So why then are they being cancelled? On the whim of the insurance companies, that's way. Try using your vaunted Reason.......
And you don't have a problem, being at the mercy of for-profit grubby corporations who can throw you overboard at any time?
You do know that most individual plans are contracted for a year only? After that- you're on your own, suckerrrrrrrr.”

“The ACA requires the health insurance company to spend 80% of the premiums on actual health care. If your premium went up it is because your health needs went up. The insurance companies are now required to take all pre-existing conditions....there for your costs will be higher. The ACA also eliminated all lifetime caps. That means your crappy $50/mo policy cant cap you at $25K. That barely covers a broken leg. So the INSURANCE companies themselves decided that they can not make money without a lifetime cap for that low of premium. The insurance company NOT Obamacare is cancelling your policy. Obama was CORRECT you can keep your policy. The Insurance company is greedy and wants more money....HENCE the need for THE AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE ACT!”
“The left can try to spin this, but IT WAS A BALD FACE LIE! It always was a lie and it still is a lie. It was an intentional attempt to mislead people into thinking the law worked differently than it did because it would have been even more unpopular if people really understood it. Also, this notion that liberals now are trying to sell - that all individual plans that were canceled provided insufficient coverage - is another big lie. For example, if you are a man, did you really need to buy maternity coverage? Now you do. And, liberals actually believe that men should have to pay for such coverage. It is a blatant cost redistribution scheme (which liberals love). Liberals also believe that they know what insurance coverage you need better than you do. Next, they will make those of us who live in the Midwest buy hurricane insurance coverage to spread the cost and risks of hurricane damage to everyone, even though many of us don't need it. Of course, what we really don't need is more left wing, socialist, nanny state laws and liberal politicians lying about them to slip bad laws past a trusting, unsuspecting public.”
“HuffPo, of course, fails to mention that opponents of Obamacare will not be spending government money taken from taxpayers to promote their position. In fact, it's amazing how concerned liberals are about private people and companies spending their own money to promote certain ideas. But they don't see anything wrong with the government taking money from people to support a position with which many people whose money is being spent don't agree.”
“Conservatives and libertarians do not demean everyone on government assistance. No one advocates taking away the social safety net for those truly in need. But there are too many people on government assistance and this country can't afford it. And many of the people on the government dole are demeaning themselves by not going out and getting a job. We have an epidemic of able bodied people who refuse to work and expect the government to take care of them. We make it too easy for many people to live off the government. And you're not helping those people by giving them something that they didn't earn and don't deserve. You help them by teaching and motivating them to take care of themselves.”
Wong23 on May 24, 2013 at 19:14:27

I've heard at least 100 Con jobs demean every single one of them”
“Thanks for the job tip, but I already have a job and support myself and my family. And I give to charity. It's really not that tough if you're willing to work hard. But I am tired of having the government take more and more of my hard earned money and simply give it to people who refuse to get off their backsides and do what I did and continue to do.”

“"....But I am tired of having the government take more and more of my hard earned money....."
Well, you're certainly not alone -- but don't let yourself get BRAINWASHED by the Republican sympathizing corporate owned mainstream media. Here are two of the REAL causes of the government taking more and more of your hard earned money -- and remember, you will NEVER, EVER hear about these causes in the mainstream media, especially on Faux Spews Channel:
CORPORATE WELFARE AND GLOBALIZATION!
Always keep this in mind: when rich individuals and big corporations don't pay taxes or pay less than their fair share, SOMEONE ELSE MUST MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE! You and I know all too well who that someone else always is. Here's the principal reason why CORPORATE WELFARE AND GLOBALIZATION are TOTALLY SHUSHED UP by the mainstream media: ADVERTISING $$$$ -- that is, TENS OF MILLIONS OF $$$$ OF IT annually! Remember, the mainstream media outlets NEED this MASSIVE amount of advertising $$$$ -- they CANNOT pay their bills without it.”
“Are you liberals able to have a serious discussion of fiscal policy without resorting to the same, tired straw man arguments. No one advocates taking away social security benefits from current seniors. But we're going to have to raise the eligibility age and/or reduce benefits to some or the system will go broke. And there are millions of other freeloaders living on the government dole and people in unnecessary government jobs that need to get off the dole. Or, we can go broke and become Greece. Then, if you think this small reduction in the growth of government known as the sequester amounts to austerity, just wait until you see the austerity measures that we're going to have to impose then. You just can't have more and more taking, with fewer and fewer paying. It doesn't work.”
