“Spot on, kanook. Free-trade negotiations with foreign countries technically began with Teddy Roosevelt's administration. The first official FTA was with Israel in 1985; the next was the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1994 among US, Canada and Mexico. This opened the door to an outpouring from the US of manufacturing facilities (thus JOBS), allowing global manufacturers to produce cheaper products for consumption by Americans, but without the burden of US-generated inventory, corporate and payroll taxes (to name a few), customs duties and fees, including processing documentation (the importer, i.e. purchasing entity, normally absorbs most of this). “Every time an umpire blows a call I swear they're a graduate of the School for Blind Umpires. Instant replay is a grand idea considering the number of umpires who continuously miscall plays. I know it'll stretch the game time, but it would definately change the win/loss outcome of a lot of games.”
