“Is this a case of justifiable homocide? Is this a case where another person would use lethal force to subdue an unarmed assailant? Was the use of deadly force necessary in this situation?
I still believe that the police are much better trained and educated in self defense and the use of lethal force.”

“He wasn't subduing anyone, it was self defense. He already had cuts bruises and a broken nose AND on the bottom of a beat down when the repeated demands to stop were ignored. According to testimony it didn't appear that the beating was going to stop so........ self defense.”

“Sorry, but I have to disagree. Armed or unarmed, if someone jumps on me and starts hitting me, I will defend myself by any means I happen to have. Whether it be a gun, knife, bat, hammer, rock, fist, scratching or biting.”

“The law states you can resort to deadly force if you fear serious bodily harm.
Could GZ claim to fear bodily harm with his bloody nose and TM on top of him. Yes since the law does not specify serious bodily injury, It does not state how much you have to suffer or be hit before you can fear bodily injury. It does say you can use deadly force if you fear serious bodily injury.
Will I let you pound away at me like he allowed TM before he pulled a gun and shot him. probably not.”
“The big 'what if'? What if the U.S. throttles back on maintaining troops? All this stationing of troops is costing this country alot of money; at a time, when everyone is screaming about the growing national debt. This money could be spent here at home rebuilding bridges, roads and beefing up our educational system. America needs to start fighting terroism smartly using more brain than brawn. I think that President Obama has finally realized that the old methods just aren't working!”
“Olivia, I say go on with your modeling! You have the face and the body; but more than that, you have a head on your shoulders! Most of the teachers who have been asked to resign didn't have your looks; and many showed little intelligence or decency by having sexual affairs with their male students! You will do fine!!”
“The fact that Katherine Russell converted to Islam and claims to know nothing about her husband's activities is reason enough for further investigation. I don't agree with all the media sensationalism; but on the other hand, this woman slept with an individual who masterminded a heinous bombing. I believe he had help; and we need to find those individuals! It would be in the best interests of the Islamic Muslim community to turn over those followers who have expressed militant views!”

“" Islamic Muslim community to turn over those followers who have expressed militant views!"
Your premise has flaws. Because you are suggesting that Muslims are hiding something. In fact, the guy at the gas station who called 911 was a Muslim.
Communities around the country work with law enforcement to expose those with extremist views all the time.
Muslims in Boston or anywhere in the country are not monolithic. Some Muslims have never heard of Dagestan or Kazakhstan.”
sheryllynne1 on May 5, 2013 at 15:24:47
“It never ceases to amaze me, just exactly how quiet, the Muslim community is. That states to me, they agree but prefer not to be involved literally, in these activities. I keep waiting for a cry against these horrific acts by their own kind. They are our neighbors, co-workers, friends to some and supposedly AMERICANS, if this is so---they have a moral obligation to the citizens of this country to be verbally and publicly opposed to this action.”

“"It would be in the best interests of the Islamic Muslim community to turn over those followers who have expressed militant views!"
So you say, but with so many baying for blood and bad-mouthing all Muslims, how do you think they'd feel about that?
And if the situation were the opposite, would you turn your friends and neighbors and, say, angry fellow Christians over to those who were hostile towards you?
As long as we treat them as if they are not Americans because of their religion, or as if they are all violent, they will feel more in common with people like themselves than people like us.”
“I'm glad that student visas are being checked more thoroughly; but I believe any student who would shield or try to cover up for these criminals, should have their visas cancelled and be deported back to their country of orgin! We don't need any more sympathy for Muslims who carry out bombings in our country.
As far as burying the older Tsarnaev, I say why not send back to his native country and let them bury him on their soil?”

“Rg, do you honestly think they are going to check more thoroughly now? If they were doing their job's properly, which we tax payer's are paying them big bucks to do, there'd be a slew of these people who would have never gotten into Our Country. This is just another facade put on by the gutless obama followers in DC.”

“First off, I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my last comment. I know it was an 'off the wall' comment; but it tells me that are still people out there who reading and thinking. Now for my next thought.
I believe that the Muslim community here in America is well aware of those individuals who follow the old Koran views-that of physical conquest. They need to turn those individuals over to the authorities; and stop looking with one eye covered! Do I think it will happen, No; because blood is thicker than water! You can not tell me that in such a 'tight-knit' community like the Muslims that they do not know which followers are militants.
I agree with 'INTERESTING 70', they need to step forward; and stop thinking like they're living in their old country; because they're not!”
“Just a thought, but I often wonder how much 'religious violence' could have been avoided here in America; if Muslims would have been barred from settling here?”

“i have another thought for you and i hope this doesn't tax your "brain" too much. what percentage of crime to you think "religious violence" comprises? hey, and i will give you ALL religious violence and not just muslem. i don't know this for a fact but logic tells me that the muslem religious violence in this country is directed AT THEM and not by them. i'm not a sypathizer but i also don't believe in making things up to fuel the fire of hate. the real tragedy here is that the settlers of this nation caused genocide to take over what belonged to the indians.”

“There needs to be a thorough investigation of everyone who might be connected to these two suspects including their families. These perpetrators had help from other individuals to carry out these bombings. I am convinced that these acts of wanton violence are not as random as we would like to think. We need to eliminate those in this country who are supportive and or sympathetic to terroist activity!”

“At least there are still some people who exercise good common sense and judgement! I'm glad to see that this officer has been removed from his position. Any professional who shows prejudice, biase, and or malice toward any one nationality or group of people, is unfit to serve the public; especially those in law enforcement! Above all other considerations, a police officer must be impartial and fair; otherwise, his judgement becomes impaired.”

Apr 11, 2013 at 20:07:23
“This whole unfortunate incident could have been avoided if some common sense had been used. I don't believe there was ever a need for deadly force; only the misjudgement on the part of one man lead to the killing of another man. This is exactly the reason why law enforcement agencies don't want armed citizens to play 'policeman'. They don't have the training, discipline, and/or the experience!”
“Ever since the Sandy Hook tragedy, legislators in this country and their constituents have been exercising their emotions and not their gray matter. I wonder if a year or two were to pass, would these same laws get passed? The violence in our society will not go away with the passage of mere laws; because man is inherently a violent creature. If a man has no respect for God's laws, what makes you think he will respect man's?”
