“Are there any politicians still out there that actually care for the people?”
disgustedwithall on Dec 9, 2013 at 00:20:44
“Well with our 1.25 party systems, what can we expect, and worse yet what do we accept and why? Reality is 90% of public could care less about government etc, now if we interrupted sports or sales, that would be serious issue. After all,we cut SNAP and read where some ball manipulator got 10 year $154MILLION contract. Kind of tells the world about usa values, local to top.”

“Yes I think Elizabeth Warren does and Jon Tester, otherwise not too many of them.”
“Funny, I work with medicinal herbs that have healed people for millennia....there's little money in that for the industry/government alliance but they work extraordinarily well...so they are being heavily regulated to keep them from interfering with profit. I'd rather use that simple solution and keep the greedy industry/government alliance out of my life. But you can choose billion/trillion dollar solutions that continue to invade your life if you'd like...”

“And obviously, most people choose modern medicine. There is no doubt that nature is very good at providing for many of our needs, most feel it is not enough and would like the ability to choose. There may be little money in what you do, but it is still an option for anyone and I am sure lots of people are better for it. Are you unhappy that you are not making more money? Tell me what medicines are not "heavily regulated"?”
“Well, he sounds like a good guy with great intentions...it's just ironic that he's also part of the problem with our healthcare...He made a lot of his money off of the pharmaceutical industry which in turn raises everyone's healthcare costs to a point few can afford care anymore.”

“Your'e right. He needs to stop. All this innovation is getting us nowhere. The doctors too, where do they get off making money finding the best ways to take care of us. We need to let the the federal government find the best ways for us to live our lives.”

“what did he do with that money? donate it”

“Once again, you can trace a problem with high prices right back to the federal government. As a handout to big pharma, the federal government BANS any re-importation of prescription drugs or medical devices into the USA. That's why a dose of medicine (look up scorpion anti-venom) that sells for $100 in Canada or Mexico costs $80,000 in the USA.
Competition brings down costs. If the government would get out of the way, people would open up pharmacies all along the borders and re-import those drugs at a substantial savings to consumers.
Thanks to Big Brother, USA residents end up subsidizing drug prices for everyone else in the world.”
“Fascinating to watch so many people trying to preserve the utterly broken healthcare system we now have while fighting the attempt (albeit imperfect) at trying to improve it..”
texasreigns on Nov 28, 2013 at 00:07:38
“The best healthcare system in the world is hardly "broken" Dearie - which is why almost 200,000 a year come here to get their care.
Incidentally, Obama's failed signature legislation has nothing to do with healthcare. It is simply a Marxist scheme to eventually eliminate all private insurance except for the wealthy.”
AlexZane on Nov 27, 2013 at 23:45:34
“how was it broken?
15 million without insurance but 180 million with preexisting conditions, .0001% of Americans ever reached their lifetime limits, and my insurance offered me tax advantages and true affordability, now it is gone.
how was it broken?”
heisenberg88 on Nov 27, 2013 at 23:32:00
“You mean trying to preserve they coverage they liked with the doctors they liked, while fighting to prevent cancellations, and higher premiums, and higher deductibles”
“Well, yes, redistribution of nearly all the nation's wealth to the top few percent is very disheartening. And while Obama hasn't done as much as I had hoped to slow that terrible trend, he certainly was better than the alternative.”
“It's heartening to see that most Americans, despite the all out attacks for years on ACA, still think it's workable and better than our current system...”
GeorgeOrwell2013 on Nov 27, 2013 at 12:56:44
“You mean DISheartening and downright unbelievable don't you. It was disheartening to see the braindead sheeple vote him in for a second term of re-distribution. 85% of our voting public is functionally illiterate which is why we find ourselves circling the drain.”
Bogey907 on Nov 27, 2013 at 12:50:13
“Most of the attacks have been outright lies, and our present system bankrupts 200,000 working families every year, leaves 15% of the population without insurance, and costs more per capita than any of the dozens of countries that have better results.”
“I've come to believe that anything Netanyahu is against must be right.”

“If you are saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is usually correct on his observations then I agree..
America has a great friend in Israel
but Barack Obama has a great dislike for this country.”

“Study the Near East!
Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations are prepared to make a deal with Israel right now! That should tell us all how bad this latest lay down deal is all about.
We gave Iran all they requested and got nothing in return.
We did not even get the release of the American preacher who is jail.
Is that SAD?”
“um, in your decisive argumentation, you seem to still fail to realize that both GB and Canada spend vastly less and live longer than we do...And besides that, we can create our own single payer system; taking the best features from others; not the worst. But that would again prove you wrong, so let's not go there..”
“No, but when it comes to health care, which should be a right and not a privilege, I don't think the "profit motive" should apply. And you, apparently believe that all hard working Americans think that they should be given everything by the "government" (which by the way, is supposed to mean "We the People", but has gotten corrupted by the mixing of money and policy; but I digress).
I, on the other hand, believe the vast majority of Americans are very independent, work hard, expect little but can't survive in a system that gives nearly everything to the top few percent...and that needs to change...”
