JosephP on May 12, 2010 at 13:08:57

“What are you talking about?

I thought even climate change deniers had conceded that carbon dioxide is indeed a greenhouse gas, and too much of it results in increased trapped solar heat and global warming. I thought the only dispute was over whether the CO2 levels are actually rising, and whether it is caused by human activities (not a real dispute since the evidence is overwhelming).

But now climate change deniers are not even agreeing that increased CO2 is a pollutant? Is this the latest talking point being fed to the uninformed by Koch and Exxon?”

“Another shot wide by Obama. And his last goal is under review by on and off ice officials in every living-room and kitchen in America. Does he really think Americans are going to support a bill that raises their energy bills? More and more people, it seems, are questioning the concept of global warming and coming to the conclusion that it's all a big scam. Like I say I would be all for a tax on CO2 emissions if one hundred percent of the money went to reforestations projects and the like. Not one penny in private hands.
And whatever happened to jobs, jobs, jobs?”

BTW we have loads of illegal Irish, Asians and Russians along with the Hispanics here in San Francisco. Guess whose job they are taking?”

“40 percent of all illegal immigrants in the USA are not Latino.

The Urban Institute estimates between 65,000 and 75,000 undocumented Canadians currently live in the United States.
What percentage of illegal immigrants who get caught are NOT Latinos? I bet it's a ton less than 40 percent. They mostly only go after Latinos.”

If they are going to tax CO2 then how about nobody personally profits from it? All the money goes to buying land and reforestation projects.”

No Brownies Welcome: the Arizona Persecution

Commented Apr 24, 2010 at 17:56:39 in Politics

“Here in San Francisco you can have your pick of illegal aliens. There's the Hispanics, of course. Then we have the Chinese; I believe they're the second biggest demographic of illegals aliens here. They are quiet and rarely make the news. Next is the illegal Irish. Most in construction and the bar/restaurant business. Russians too. And scattered misc like indians overstaying their cards and Europeans who came for a visit and never left. Yep, there's plenty of ripe fruit here in California.
The biggest problem with this bill, in my opinion, is that it will make illegal aliens uncomfortable about living in Arizona so they will come to the sanctuary city of San Francisco where our quota of illegals was reached years ago.”

“I think what he is saying is that it's funny how the left demonized the Tea Party
as being mostly white and was called a racist organization by the press. This person is pointing out how the environmentalists groups are predominantly white also but do not suffer the same scrutiny. Just my guess.”

JaxReader on Apr 22, 2010 at 19:40:55

“Oh ok, thanks. Yea a TeaBagger also just explained it to me on another article. I don't watch Fox "News" so I didn't know the latest talking point was to try to convince people that the TeaBaggers aren't all ignorant racists.

I also didn't know that there was a liberal media conspiracy to discredit the intellectual and professional TeaBaggers. I personally just watched footage of a bunch of people that made signs with misspellings, yelled out ignorant comments, and didn't know what the basic principles of what they were fighting against.

I also didn't know that environmentalists are mostly white. That conclusion seems rather inaccurate and slightly ignorant.”
