“This sounds good on the surface, but when you really think about it there are so many holes for really needy people to fall through that it is pathetic. I know it sounds bad but I hope that every legislator that votes to take food out of someones mouth soon knows hunger, that every one that votes against health care soon knows what it's like to need it and not have it.
These people were obviously born without empathy. Maybe they can learn it through experience. Meanwhile, they have no business making decisions that affect the lives of their fellow men.”
“I watched her show last night and saw this segment. I thought it was spot on. I've had a hard time believing any news outlet would ask Rumsfeld's, Bremer's, Cheney's or Krystal's opinion on dog grooming much less matters of state, but they have been, and apparently taking them seriously.
Go Rachel!! What a voice of sanity. I don't agree with bombing Syria and hope Obama will not do it, but I don't give a fiddle about any opinion voiced by someone from the Bush administration. They should all be in prison.”
“I can never understand why people who worship a supposedly omnipresent and omnipotent god are so afraid of everything. Shouldn't he be able to protect them from all that stuff?”

“Oh no! They're not afraid to keep Health Care AWAY FROM as many Americans as possible.”

“I have the same reaction. If Jesus keeps his promises, then he is "with us always, even unto the end of the world". We are told that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, and that he oversees everything for the welfare of his body, the church. And we are told in Col.: 2:19 that the whole body (the church) "grows as God causes it to grow."
So why this emphasis on human recognition and prevention of what is harming Christianity? Perhaps God knows better than we do.”

“Oh sure, God keeps them safe from disease, disasters, and evil-doers. But now they need someone to protect them from God.
It's kind of like a shop owner who's afraid of burglars, so he asks the Mafia to protect him.”
“I live in Texas and am beyond my child bearing years, and it amazes me how many young women here vote Repub.
I think the problem is age. I remember what it was like before abortion was legal and the younger women have no frame of reference. They may be in for a hard lesson soon.”

“I too am in Texas and am old enough to remember what it was like before Roe v Wade. I think you are correct when you say that those who did not experience that time in history just don't understand how awful it was.”
“I'm a leftist and I think he is telling the exact truth. I have owned several small companies with less than 10 employees and it is very hard at that level to make a profit. Obamacare is going to offer subsidies for companies like yours to assist with costs associated with offering insurance.
Another thing small business can do is what most large ones do. that is start charging their employees for a portion of their own insurance. Most employees, especially of a small business would understand this and be happy to contribute to their benefits. You just have to charge everyone the same amount, including owners and officers.”
“Nope ! Just honest. If not for cameras, security and more.....and if an owner is not on site during all hours of operation, they would not have a business.... that is reality. Heck, if the military police gave a surprise nation wide inspection of all vehicles leaving the military bases, there would be so many arrests, there would not be enough jails to hold the thieves. That and the military would be shut down due to lack of staff, both military and civilian. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.... Reality and sad...”
“My husband worked for one of the largest oil companies in the world in 2004 and they stopped offering medical insurance to spouses who had access to it at their jobs starting in Jan. of '04. Most of our friends who worked for one of the other biggies had the same experience with their health policies. This isn't all because of Obamacare.”
“It's time people stop fighting each other at the bottom of the ladder and start looking up at the top, where the real enemy is.”

“The cons have so much more fun and it makes them feel so much more self-righteous to kick the people at the bottom of the ladder, while kowtowing to and worshipping the kleptocratic CEOs. I don't understand it myself.”
“I don't know how anyone can stand to listen to that giant bag of noxiousness but I know some of his dittiots and they live by what he says. I think this country would be a much more civil place now if not for him.”

“My top votes for the destroyers of our world here in the US, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and Wal Mat, not necessarily in that order.”
“I notice while reading the comments that many people on this thread are very quick to judge Rep. Ellison and assume things about him they don't know to be true just because he is Muslim. I could do the same thing with Christians and assume that they are all backwards, bigoted people who want to take us back to the sixties when women knew their place and had to have their husband's permission to even have access to birth control, and blacks and other minorities knew to keep their opinions to themselves and that included at the voting booth; but that would be wrong wouldn't it?.”
“I almost laughed when I saw this, but I realized immediately Rove was serious. How sad this is. It reminds me again of the old saying about how a thief is the one with the most and best locks on his door because he cannot conceive of a world where everyone is not a thief.”
