“I don't see where he suggests he thinks he knows what's best for others (and I read the article twice).”

“Yeah, that was an aspect of the article that escaped me as well. It`s like when I watched Clint Eastwood at that Republican function - he seemed to be expressing an opinion - I didnt get the impression that he thought he was an expert or anything.`...”
“This should serve as a reminder to all to be careful what you put on your facebook page....employers read those pages and there are a litany of things one can be fired for (some of which can seem silly to some of us).”

“Did you read the article. He wrote an e-mail to his principal informing him that he would be late in order to pick up his marriage license. Currently same sex marriage is not recognized in Pennsylvania.”
“mine? mine surely has nothing to do with it. (especially since we've been together since 1999)
and i'm not concerned with the age difference. what made me question the longevity of this relationship is the 19 year old has a totally different life experience at this point than the 39 year old. i think the 39 year old will begin to find much of that mindset tiresome fairly shortly.”
“first of all i have every right in the world to question a technique. who died and left you art superintendent? i'm saying that there most likely is some outline first - which is perhaps not stated in this story.”

“Calm down. I'm not claiming any authority here. I'm asking why YOU are suggesting you know EVERY method possible and the one this artist used doesn't match.
"most likely some outline" - again, why do YOU get to decide how the method must be chosen & applied? Funny you think I'm acting authoritative when you're the one that started out by questioning the artist and suggesting he couldn't possibly be doing something simply because you hadn't heard of it or see it first-hand...”
“Nice for you. But I wasn't referring to the age difference (although that can be a problem given that at 19 years old he has vastly different life experience than someone 39 years old who's a bit of a big-shot in Hollywood)...I was simply referring to the fact that their relationship is taking place in Crazywood, where even a year long relationship is considered an eternity.”

“Right. It's not the AGE difference, it's life experience that concerns me. If what Tom is saying is true then they have had VERY different lives. Hollywood vs. English. Writer & such vs. athlete. Someone who has been gay & sexual for a bunch of years vs a gay virgin and never in a gay relationship before. There is also the fact one is VERY gay and the other MAY not have even decided and MAY still think he is 'bisexual." (A lot of people early on think they are bisexual before realizing for themselves they are gay not bi.) I wish them the very best but the odds are NOT good.”

“True Hollywood is not conducive to monogamy and or long term marriages. However, it does happen... but something tells me that this is not being entered into as a long term commitment. Daley may be "in love with being in love" and his boyfriend may feel flattered by the attention of an Olympic diver but probably neither views the other as potential "husband" material...”
“If you are an artist, why are you dissing on someone else's methods? I've seen people start canvases - both regular & digital - in the manner we watched here. I seem to recall a Bob Ross video or two where he started with color smudges and then gradually worked things in toward his final product.”
“How did the artist get an exact likeness by simply putting the first few layers on the skin? This is not how any artist I know, digital or traditional, gets likeness. Just a thought.”
Oregonian76 on Dec 3, 2013 at 17:00:05
“"... artists you know..."
So, you aren't an artist (presumably, from the way you commented), but are trying to critique someone's methods? Because your artist friends' methods are the ONLY way to do something? Maybe you need to recognize that you don't know everything, your friends don't have all the methods/answers, and there are people in this world that can do things that seem impossible.
