“I recall many years ago hearing about some would-be imitators trying to copy making the equivalent of Tektronix 'scopes. They never quite managed making the parts work together correctly.
As to their space program, I expect them to have the best and brightest in that, considering it being a top prestige show-piece, not to mention it's relevance to military applications. But that doesn't mean they're going to get everything right all the time, even though I'm sure they've studied the programs of the US, Europe, Japan, India, Pakistan, and even N. Korea, most closely. It should never be forgotten that they have over four times the size of the US population base to draw on for talent.
As to their high-speed train disaster: I expected that many months before it happened.
Now, as to that strange red-topped face: Who are you?! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL DXM. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM????”
Your thoughts travel at the speed of light. That's because they are entirely mass-less. In fact, you yourself are a mass-less thinker, I would say.
Obviously, you zipped entirely by my reply, and traveling at c you didn't even perceive it.”
“I have seen some bicyclists who seem to have a death wish: They wear dark or even black clothes on bikes that don't even have ANY reflectors. If their sneakers didn't have a reflective tag, they'd be essentially invisible!”
“When a bike was my primary mode of transportation, mostly in the '90s I had reflectors everywhere I could stick or attach them in addition to the standard ones a bike comes with, plus lights.
On one of my jaunts during the night to ride past the marshes, one motorist flipped on his high beams from at least a quarter mile out to see what the hell that thing was ahead!”
“That would/will make absolutely NO difference whatever to the amount of energy/matter. It's only a conversion of one form to another. If energy in any form were CREATED, that would make a difference, but that would be a fundamental violation of the known laws of physics.”

“If energy cannot be created, where did it come from?”
“It's even worse when you add a particular Brit accent ...........
Several years ago the BBC had a new 'reader' in their US broadcasts. She was a beautiful, black woman who seemed highly polished and competent. But ...... she had the thickest, densest, and most comprehensible Brit accent I ever heard! I don't know from what part of England it was, but it was torture to ears on this side of the Pond.”
“" We know every planet in our Solar System is slowly moving away as the suns gravity slowly diminishes ":
Due to mass loss, there would be a tiny decrease of gravity. But it would be too tiny to measure, I would think. Have you any reference stating otherwise?
The Moon's dynamics are totally different due to tidal interaction with the Earth.”

“You have the internet and still you can't find anything saying the moon is moving away? And, too tiny to measure? if it moves away at the speed your fingernails grow is that not still moving away?”
“OK, transit is a possible - but that would be one hell of a long shot. And it wouldn't give them the orbital period, for the simple reason that they, and their great^10+grandchildren would have died or old age by the time of the second transit.”
