“perhaps i am having a loss of communication or comprehension here ... what does an app and daily positive affirmations to friends have to do with helping to end child trafficking and exploitation??
what did i miss .....”
joanf on Sep 15, 2013 at 07:22:03
“I thought exactly the same thing as well. How does this end human trafficking and exploitation? Also, don't we already have a million social networks to be in contact with "friends". Wonder how much she is charging people to "connect"?”

“if you find out please let me know because i had the exact same question.”
“agree - i see you commented about NY - i make comments based on Oregon. oh my, my spelling was way off - apologies - thoughts flying faster than fingers! wish there was some answer to help the kids who really need help ... ”

“No need to apologize. I'm not a spelling judge. Yes, I'm in NY. My mother tried to commit suicide and was stopped by my father. He had her committed and was told about the maximum 90 day hold. This was in 2007. I don't know what it is now. As it happened, she did die--in the hospital---but that's another story.”
“good post and insight! i have only seen the spoiled , rich, entitled kids with no problems other than being catered to every whim ... i do understand so many other facors can be involved. so sad - hoe did we get to this point? egads, we drank from garden hoses and ate elmers glue ....and we are just fine .... ”

“Thank you :)Of course, there's no singular answer. But they never should have emptied out/restricted the stay in mental facilities for those that badly need it. In NY, even the worst of whohaws can't be involuntarily held beyond 3 months.”
growing up is hard. being mature is hard. making responsible desicions and accepting resposibility for our actions are both difficult .... but all within reach with apologies and acceptance from all parties involved.
anger is such a strong emotion ... and sometimes it consumes us. life is hard and we must consider all our actions, and their reactions, and learn from them .. the bad decisions can make us stronger as can the good ones. just keeping trying and look for the good things in life.”

“I don't think you really understand the situation, as I didn't write it all, of coarse growing is hard and accepting SUGAR GLIDERS- Do not make a good pet at all. We had been given a sugar glider by a friend, and it was really sad. We would try to take her out to play, as they got lonely, and whenever we tried, she would bite hard enough to break the skin. Then she would run away, and we could not find her for hours. We tried and tried, but then after my daughter decided she could not play with her anymore and I was at my wits end trying to do the right thing, by playing, feeding etc. We finally had to give her away.I gave her to a pet rescue group. She's much better off. I definitely do not recommend anyone buying them as a pet. etc. ”
“agree! i really wanted to examine the extreme thermophiles to see if they might have use in antibiotics but could not find funding for the research. and i cannot scuba ... but wanted to partner with someone who could.”
“i think it is neat to re-explore discovered areas from the past. hopefully it will give the current generation some impetus to explore science and geography.
i am sorry all those with no science inklings who must make negative or stupid comments regarding a real and interesting subject. perhaps you should go back to your cable tv and change the batteries in the remote control. or go have that trim you so need on your mullet ...”

“The ocean is for the most part unexplored. Plenty of discoveries out there. Much like space exploration it is limited to people with deep pockets.”
“yes, unfortunately now it SEEMS kids have more power, and much more less respect for elders and authority, and the situation is sad.
as far as my "entitlement" comment - not a lame cop out if you live in an affluent community and see the BS these kids try to pull and then say to the cops "don't you know my dad is?" to try to get away with their illicit activities. sorry i did not make this clear in my initial comment.”
“kids are given way too many "rights" - so tired of all the power kids have now. this is seemingly another tragic example of how far out-blown these rights and feeelings of entitlement have become.”
rain on my parade on Sep 7, 2013 at 23:56:30
“Hi, Vintyn, from a new fan. IMO, entitlement is a good part of it. But there's also the part of just plain mentally deranged individuals born with a chemical mixture in the brain which pre-detrermines them to permanent illness. Granted, most don't kill their parents. At the same time, most don't get adequate diagnosis/treatment....or none at all.
I am not defending Guzman, or any violent psychopaths, merely understanding it's much more complex than society deeming them "bad" or "brats". My own cousin was both epileptic and capable of violence. I wouldn't let her in my house. She had parents who failed to own up to their responsibility. Be that as it may, she wasn't mine.”

“I agree but this girl is 18 so she is not a kid in the eyes of the law and should be treated as such!”
sparky1359 on Sep 6, 2013 at 23:28:50
“Oh, so you know the whole story? Why are you wasting away typing on this site? You should go help the police with all the information that you have!”
egoldenb on Sep 6, 2013 at 23:24:03
“She wasn't a kid. She was an adult.
This had nothing to do with rights. This had to do with the fact that this girl is pure evil.”
atokageneral on Sep 6, 2013 at 23:05:49
“...DAMN, how badly were you beaten as a child? Certainly above the norm and you feel ENTITLED to beat the crap out of a troubled teen? 99% of these children are from homes where the parent is neglectful are prone to engage in unlawful behavior. Maybe we should give these children a chance at a real life and punish the wayward parent with a bit of prison time so their children don't fall in the same hole that led their parents to demise. I do also believe that the radicals who want to turn education into a voucher system be removed from their seats in Congress or Senate. All of them seem to come from baggerstan anyway. Good luck in 2014You're really gonna need it.”

“yes, my x gave my daughter so much power that she is allowed to speak to me any way she pleases. And if it's totally out of line, and I would call him, he would say" well you probably deserved it"!! She would call him, he would come picj her up, and they would just leave.”
Nesman90 on Sep 6, 2013 at 22:53:34
“Yea yea... Every generation is always "worse" than the previous one... Revisionist history at its finest.. "Entitlement" is the most overused word today and is a lame cop out. Tragedies like this has happened since the beginning of time.”
rain on my parade on Sep 6, 2013 at 22:53:00
“Well, she won't be given any rights or entitlements NOW. Read the article: Isabella Guzman will be tried as an adult and is eligible for the death penalty.”
Andrewcranky on Sep 6, 2013 at 22:49:42
“This has nothing to do with "rights".
This was out and out rage.
We should hold off judgment until we get the whole story.”
there was a woman in Vancouver, WA who did the same to herself - long story, not discussing here ... hope her plea for attention did not give these bad guys the idea ....”
sunfire1983 on Aug 11, 2013 at 01:47:39
“Yeah I remember that. Everybody felt bad for her but it turns out she did it to herself.”
Cyber Nick on Aug 11, 2013 at 00:52:43
“Since Muslims do this all the time, maybe she got the idea from them?”
zebbie on Aug 10, 2013 at 23:28:55
“Vintyn baby looks like you have issues and have to show that a woman did it too. The big difference is that if that really happened she did it to herself, it is a rare occurance, and it has nothing to do with the story line.
Get your facts straight”
