“What a ridiculous argument. I also remember a time when it was common practice to put lead in everything from gas to paint, asbestos was a common additive in building materials, mercury was played with by children because it was fun. Oh those were the days!”

Subway Response To 'Footlong' Controversy: Name 'Not Intended To Be A Measurement Of Length'

“I'd never make a fuss about it either but I do believe that if a company is going to make their living off advertising a footlong sub you should be getting what you're told you're getting. None of your examples make any sense. If your food comes out different from what you ordered (Different cook time, not enough onions, etc) You are well within your right to send it back. The label on the bag of chips tells you the weight of the chips inside, not the weight of the bag so you know the bag is half full when you buy it. You're not buying a full bag and getting a half full bag. The only example that had any correlation to this article is the gas and you agreed you'd be angry if you bought more gas than you got. So you are the same as anyone who'd be upset about getting less sub than they bought!”

“They are 2 x 4 before they go into a planer and every home improvement store has a label with the actual measurements of 1.5 by 3.5. Subway has never had a disclaimer saying "Before baking measurement" on it. Therein lies the problem!”

“Would you be upset if you paid for 10 gallons of gas but only got 9? Of course you would! If a company says they are selling you something shouldn't we as consumers demand they give us what we paid for?”

“There are many variances on food orders so MOST people don't spaz out when it's not exact ( That's not well done, I said extra onions, that's processed cheese, the bag of chips is only 1/2 full, etc.). On gas yes I would be mad, on a 11 inch sub, no.”

Michigan Proposals 2012: State Ballot Measures Will Let Voters Decide Hot-Button Issues

“Thanks for the info. I've read quite a few articles on the proposal, but all of them seem to constantly contradict one another. This election has been so hard when it comes to trying to find actual facts. It's why I feel it's so important to know as much information as you possibly can for this election.”

“Do you vote on highways, roads, or any other infrastructure in the state? Then why would we need to vote on international bridges? Sounds like nothing will get done in this state, if every little thing needs to get voted on.”

Cold in Michigan on Nov 3, 2012 at 17:37:40

“The existing bridge was voted on.  THe people at that time agreed to a private bridge and even voted on what company would do the construction. Now, Michigan wants  ignore that. Perhaps if we just ignored every thing that has been voted on in the past and turn our lives over to Snyder we could do away with elections once and for all. ”

“Canada is only collecting tolls until the "loan" is repaid. After that, Michigan starts collecting half the tolls.”

xXThe FETTXx on Nov 3, 2012 at 17:16:32

“Thanks for the response. Where can I read up on this? I've been looking for what will happen if the bridge is built and can't seem to find quality info on this topic. I'd like to read in print that Canada only get the tolls until the bill is paid for.”

“The cops are hired to enforce the laws that politicians put in place. It's not the cops fault for doing their jobs! If it were truly victimless, why would they need protection?”

olitenup on Sep 7, 2012 at 17:16:05

“Maybe the cops should be focusing on the violent crime of Detroit-lord knows there is plenty of it. Those dogs will be killed for no good reason.”

Bolt V3 on Sep 6, 2012 at 16:33:00

“Protection has nothing to do with whether or not the crime is victimless.”
