Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts says wearing the "right" labels is not among his chief concerns.

Of course, fashion does not need to be a big priority when your "work uniform" is a long black robe, but even when he steps out on the town at dazzling parties like Friday night's Washington National Opera Ball at the opulent Russian embassy, Mr. Roberts readily admits his tuxedos are in keeping with his staid, midwestern style.

"I have no idea. It's off the rack. It's not Armani," the boyishly handsome Chief responded when we asked him "who" he was wearing.

Same is true for his wife, Jane Sullivan Roberts, who was enjoying a date night with her hubby at the ball, in a daringly scooped necked black number.

When we asked if she knew the designer of her dress, Mrs. Roberts sheepishly replied in the negative, while her husband leaned backward as if to get a peek of the label.

The couple was among the many music lovers who came out to support the world famous WNO, which raised over a million dollars at the ball for its educational and community outreach programs.
