How Creating a Vision Board Changed My Life

If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there. I'm not sure who said it first maybe someone from the Wizard of Oz or perhaps it was my mom. Whatever the case may be, the statement still resonates with me as much as it did when I first heard it.

As a so-called millennial I've turned into a visual person. If I don't see it, I can't achieve it. Being visually focused probably says a lot of my motivation but as a self proclaimed scatter brain seeing things keeps me on track.

Recently, I was introduced to my first ever vision board. Yes, a vision board. As a kid I was super obsessed with cutting up magazines and plastering my ideas on the wall (sorry, dad) but no one ever told me there was a way to create a vision board without destroying my walls, until now.

Derek Hough, who I became obsessed with on Dancing With The Stars recently launched an online initiative with Hilton that changed my life. Our stage Our Story. As a mom I don't have time to cut out magazine pictures anymore so with the help of Our Stage I have been able to digitize my vision boards. Since creating this online vision board my life has changed, for the better. Prior to become a wife and a mom I was always driven simply by the thought of accomplishing great things. Now that my roles have changed in life it's a lot harder to be like and Nike and just do it. The vision board put my life into perspective. I had the chance to not only create an online checklist of my vision but now I can hold onto my vision board(did I mention I'm not the most organized person in the world) and share it with my family and friends. It's like an online accountability system and if you're like me, you need it.
