Witch-Hunt Vets Get Plum Government Jobs

Powerline has a scary post listing eleven "alumni" of the Kenneth Starr Independent Prosecutor's Office (LLP?) who have had important governmental positions during the Bush regime.

This includes Brett Kavanaugh, who was confirmed by the senate today with the inexplicable assistance of Democrats Byrd, Carper, Landrieu, Ben Nelson, Biden, Feinstein, Kohl, Lieberman, Lincoln, Bill Nelson, Obama, and Pryor, all of whom voted for cloture. Byrd, Carper, Landrieu, Ben Nelson then voted to confirm. These are our leaders?

Patrick Leahy denounced the confirmation of Kavanaugh: "It's clear that he is a political pick being pushed for political reasons. This is not a court that needs another rubber stamp for this president's exertion of executive power."

People for the American way has an interesting report and Dana Milbank wrote this article in 2002 featuring various other "Starr underlings" discussing Kavanaugh.

Memo to Senators Byrd et al: Do you think that Republicans would have let the liberal counterpart of Kavanaugh come to a vote or be confirmed during the Clinton administration? During the upcoming Gore Administration?
