What struck me most forcefully about Barack Obama last night was that, especially for a first time audience, he established himself as presidential -- exactly what one should do in an acceptance speech. He conveyed a sense of enormous strength and purpose, an individual who knows exactly what he wants to do and precisely what he must do to reach his ends. All of that silly stuff about Paris Hilton and celebrity and weakness on national security should seem particularly nonsensical to anyone after hearing this address. This is a deeply serious man. Whatever the Republicans fling at him over the next 90 days, no one now can have any doubts about his depths as a candidate and his commitment to changing this land.

Obama is as deep as a parking lot puddle.
"McCain just doesn't 'get it'."
VOTE OBAMA '08!!
We can all see the direction this country is
going if he becomes president. He is a good
organizer and he surrounds himself with good people who thinks of their families first. Unlike the mccain campaign,
who is surrounded by the likes of carl rove, people of questionable character.
The judgement factor can clearly distinguish
the two candidates. Senator obama is serious in taking this country in a new direction and senator mc cain is just serious
in winning an election by his choice of VP.
Mccain just ate up all his words regarding the experience factor. He is now an imitator of obama on the idea of change. Truly, obama is the leader and mccain is just a soldier.
Followed by an Obaman
Then I became an Obamust
After that speech I'm an Obamaniac!
Obama/Biden '08
any newspaper archive would have pictures of THAT birthday event, with Mc Cain and Bush embracing. i 'm a yellow dog Dem in a red state, but one thing most of us down here share is a disdain for that image.
And why should a single county, city or even state be able to fix all the things that have been willfully destroyed on the federal level?
How about asking why the man does not have wings and why he does not part the waters. Isn't that a requirement for a democratic candidate these days to get consideration by a republican voter?
