3 Weeks to Election Day

There's a lot to write about today.
Are they "hanging chads" in Ninevah?
Is the intense focus on Dick, Scooter, and Judith going to let Karl slip beneath the radar?
If Richard Land (right wing Southern Baptist evangelist leader) believes that Jews and Muslims can't go to heaven, and he also vouches for Harriet Miers, should that concern the rest of us?

But hey--it's 3 weeks to Election Day, folks.
Time to hang George W. Bush, the DeLay corrupt Congress, and one-party GOP mis-rule around the necks of Arnold and his "bread and circuses" initiatives in California, Mike Bloomberg "Bush Enabler" in New York City, and supply-side lunatic Jim Gilmore--oops, that's Jerry Kilgore!--in Virginia.
I'm hoping/trusting Jon Corzine can hang on in New Jersey, too.

In 1989, new DNC Chair Ron Brown used the off-year elections in NY, NJ & VA to show that Paul Tully's "coordinated campaign" strategy was for real, and that the Democratic Party was still alive and kicking. The elections were close, but the Dems won them all.
In 2005, we don't have to win them all. But we need to win most of them. Which means it's time to get busy.
It's time for every progressive to ante up for at least Ferrer & Kaine.
(It's especially time for every New Yorker to donate to Ferrer, since your money is matched 6-1, turning a $20 donation into $140!)
DFA, PDA, MoveOn, TrueMajority, Working Assets, all you Dem politicians with big email lists--isn't this right up your alley?
It's time for every Democrat to email his friends in NY, NJ, VA & CA, imploring them to VOTE NO on the GOP agenda.
And Chairman Dean--you want to prove the Dems are back? Here's your chance. I'd say it's even your duty. You need to win most of these races, and be seen helping do so!
Nationalize the races in New York City, New Jersey, and California. Remind Democrats that they are BLUE and Schwarzenegger & Bloomberg are RED. Even worse, remind Democrats that Schwarzenegger & Bloomberg were front men for re-electing Bush--they were the enablers, the so-called "moderates" that helped convince just enough independents that Bush was better than Kerry.
Think about it--who did Bush call on to host his national convention, abuse civil liberties by restricting the protest marches outside, and allow him to preen in the shadow of the Twin Towers? Mike Bloomberg. Republican. Bush Enabler.
And who did George W. call on at the very end, to fly into Ohio to save the day? Arnold Schwarzenegger. Republican. Democrat Terminator.

Time for payback. After all, George W. is way, way down these days.
And what self-respecting mule doesn't kick a mean, nasty, rogue elephant when he's down?
