Pat Robertson's Jealous

George W. is alleged to have said that "God told me" to go to war with Iraq. Is it any wonder that the rest of the world regards the U.S. as coming unglued?

As Stephen Elliott nicely posted here yesterday, the BBC has a quote in which George W. is alleged to have said that "God told me" to go to war with Iraq.

Three questions: (1) Doesn't God have caller ID? (2) Why did I immediately think of Flip Wilson's "the devil made me do it"? (3) Is it any wonder that the rest of the world regards the U.S. as coming unglued?

Today, the Washington Post updates the story a bit: "Instead of 'God told me,' the Post's translation had Bush saying he was inspired by God."

Feel better now?
