Let's Put The Past Behind Us And Support President-Elect Donald Trump

It's time to start operating from a mindset of love and abundance instead of one of fear, hate and scarcity.

Americans woke up with mixed feelings this morning. For some, they were ecstatic to see their nominee, Donald Trump, as the comeback kid who overcame the odds and won the presidential election. For others though, it was a completely opposite feeling. They were sad to see their nominee, Hilary Clinton, defeated.

Beyond that, there was a third group of people who woke up this morning, saw the results of the election, and were outright angry. They're kicking and stomping their feet and genuinely pissed off that Donald Trump won. They're ranting on social media how the country is doomed, how evil prevailed, how this is going to be the worst four years in American history, and going on and on in a hate-filled tirade how it's the demise of America as we know it.

Here's the thing: You can't change the results of the election. I can't change the results of the election. Nobody can change the results of the election. So, for all you angry people out there, you have two choices: continue to whine and complain about the election results, or put the past behind you and look to the future.

As I wrote in my Huffington Post column earlier in the week, we must accept the outcome of the election even if we don't agree with the results.

I said, "No matter if you are for Clinton, Trump, Johnson or anyone else, decide to accept the results of the election whether your candidate wins or not. There's nothing you can do once the results are final so there's no point in getting angry or upset. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon for a recount or new vote, stop seeing it as the Republicans vs. the Democrats, but rather adopt a spirit of unity and togetherness for the betterment of our country. We're all stronger when we come together as one."

There was a reason this was my first bullet point in that article. I knew that if Donald Trump pulled off the victory, the haters and protesters would be out in full force. Sadly, they are.

Is Donald Trump perfect? Absolutely not. Did he say some really mean things towards women and others in the past? Yes, he did. But if you're one of those people who can't seem to let this go, I urge you to look in the mirror. Are you perfect? Have you ever said mean things about someone else? Should we hold that grudge against you for the rest of your life? Have people forgiven you?

You may not care for Donald Trump and that's fine, but put your emotions on the shelf and start to think about the best interest of America. The best thing we can all do is stand behind our new president-elect. Fighting, bickering and complaining isn't going to accomplish anything productive. It's time to stop making it about Trump vs. Clinton, Democrat vs. Republican, or any other divided lines at this point. Donald Trump will be sworn into office and the best thing we can all do for the future of our country is to stand behind him.

As Trump said in his victory speech, "Now it's time to bind the wounds of division. I say to Democrats and Republicans it is time to come together as one united people."

Trump also said, "I pledge to be president for all Americans."

America has spoken. It's time to put the past behind us and unite as one people and support our new president. It's time to start operating from a mindset of love and abundance instead of one of fear, hate and scarcity.
