I wrote earlier about last night's debate, and never one thought once about who I thought won the debate, a question that normally comes to mind first.

Obviously the loser was the American voter.

But who won?

The answer usually comes after figuring out who made the most inroads.

Barack? Certainly not. Hammered all night about blah-blah-blah, how could he be?

Then it would have to be Hillary. Nope. She circled so many answers before landing with anything close to an answer she might end up with more frequent flier miles, but not a victory.

The fact that McCain didn't even have to deal with any questions might make him the winner on the zero-is-better-than-negative yardstick. But no.

After going through the questions' subjects - William Ayers, Bosnia, Reverend Wright, bitter clingyness, flag pins et al, I realized that the winner becomes as obvious as a Sean Hannity ten minute question...SEAN HANNITY.

Sean Hannity, a radio super mogul who many on the left call a fool.

Yes, the FoxNews host and ABC syndicated radio host comes out smelling like a right wing muse to ABC's Charles Gibson.

Were Hannity's incessant rants on the William Ayers, Reverend Wright Bosnia, bitter clingyness, flag pins, et al themes streamed through some sort of ESP from Hannity to Charles Gibson.? Did Sean just go through the ABC food-chain to pass Stephanopolous a note?

It doesn't matter how they got there. It's because Hannity has spent the last many months repeating it until it catapulted out of right wing world and directly into the mouths of the ABC moderators.

Which means more than anything, what Sean Hannity does, works. And if anyone should be declared the winner, it's got to be Hannity.

Now who's the fool?

That's what works in America.
10 million people tuned in... No matter what people would like to think, ABC got their advertisers plenty of peeled eyeballs to paste their brands on, while, as you say, Hannity and the "Magic Kingdom" held up the frame for which Americans will watch the Corporate coronation, while patting themselves on the back for being so insightful to see exactly what they were shown... Over and over and over again.

This nation needs to be reminded not to let other people do their thinking for them. Unfortunately, their too busy watching the Corporate Ad machine tell them how smart they are for using the right stool softeners and then taking the right "sleep aid" (tranquilizers).

I still don't get it. They jump all over Obama because of the bitter word, Rev Wright, flag pins, and what someone he may loosely be associated with has said or done years ago. Has anybody noticed that her nuclear umbrella over the whole Mid-East has made her more of a hawk than even McCain and the neo-cons? That she has staked the ground of fighting for those "average" Americans making over $100,000 a year, or has anyone even commented on her praising "the great American Drug companies" at the so-called compassion forum? Those are real issues, real gaffes, and real examples of eltism, but not one pundit has yet commented on them. The media establishment sure seems to be in cahoots in taking Obama and his people's campaign down.
