I know. I know. Even Bill O'Reilly wouldn't lower himself enough to spew that hateful a stream of slime.
Well, you'd be wrong.
On Wednesday night's TV Factor on FoxNews Cable, the No Spinster, continuing his weeklong rabble over some comments made at the Huffington Post on a post concerning Nancy Reagan's injury, offered these little gems...
"I don't see a difference between (Arianna) Huffington and the Nazis."
"What's the difference between the Ku Klux Klan and Arianna Huffington?"
"There's no difference between what Huffington and Nazis do."
"The whole (Huffington Post) is a sewer."
Even Mary Katherine Hamm, the right wing conservative editor of Townhall.com found herself cringingly disagreeing with Bill.
My question for all the lawyers out there: Does Arianna have recourse? That is, of course, if she is not like the Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan?
Ah, the loverly Bill O'Reilly... proving once again, and beyond a shadow of a doubt, that microscopic algae is not the lowest form of life.
Award-winning television writer and author of Great Failures of the Extremely Successful", (www.greatfailure.com), Steve Young's "All The News That's Fit To Spoof" appears in L.A. Daily News opeds every Sunday(www.dailynews.com/columnists) on the same page as O'Reilly's...really.

I guess you got over that whole "Klu Klux Klan" thing.
I'm not sure, but if Thorn's comment is directed at me, I'd like to reply:
No, I certainly did not get over the Ku Klux Klan (note it is Ku) comment.
The KKK is disgusting to the core, but I haven't heard Bill use that comparison before.
And more often when people are trying to label some dictator or someone they disagree with they label them as Nazis or Hitler. People have called Bush Hitler, I've never heard him called the Grand Wizard. I despise the KKK and all white supremecists.
I'd much rather live in a day when people start comparing others to say, the Greensboro Four.
My comment had nothing at all to do with you. In the post as originally published, the author had written "Klu Klux Klan" [sic] throughout.
I must admit, I watch .the .factor, but purely for its unintended comedic value. There is more than enough to go around, and since the sit-com is basically dead this is the next best thing. Is anyone surprised that he equated Huff with the Nazis? Bill the master of hyperbole. It is surprising he also didn't compare her to Hitler.
Look this is the rage these days. Anyone who disagrees with someone else is dubbed a Nazi or Hitler. Recently while reading the comments on this site, I learned that my fellow Jews in Israel are also apparently Nazis.
You know who were like the Nazis? The Nazis.
Guess who was exactly like Hitler? Yep, Hitler.
I am becoming comvinced that very few actually know more than some cursory information about Hitler and the Nazis. Basically these were bad guys.
These were not just bad guys, they were evil incarnate...humanity at its worst.
Everyone needs to be more responsible when they speak, on both sides of the aisle.
I am beginning to worry about how far we are swinging to the left in reaction to these last eight years.
We cannot become the very thing we denounce and claim to abhor.
We must not lower ourselves to the ways of the right, or in the end we will be just as dirty and just as deplorable.
The whole Huffington Post is a sewer??
The actual sewer is Bill Oraly's mouth and the S*** that spews out of it! He gets more crazy and hostile as his ratings continue to plunge! His obvious mental disintegration becomes even more apparent as he reels from the legitmate criticism of Keith Olberman. Bill Oraly should quit his job, and move in with " Dick " Cheney in some undisclosed location! They would be able to get along fine, and agree on most subjects, since they are both equally full of BS!
He must have an intern read HP and then fill him in. I happened to be channel surfing and caught it and he is insane, I would call him a pig, but then that would be insulting the pig. I keep asking myself what kind of human being really thinks this alien is interesting and worth listening to. He should have been sent packing with the lynching remark, he is no better than Imus so why is he being treated differently?
My favorite Bill-O moment is when he said he had been in combat since he reported from El Salvador. A caller pointed out that this is BS, and Billy lost his mind. Now he"s just a veteran of the war on Christmas.
O'Reilly has launched a jihad against The Daily Kos and now the Huffington Post. I have not seen any blogs on the right, but I am sure the comments on them are far worse. Some of the meanest comments on the Huffington Post are from those on the far-right wing.
You forgot the vile Media Matters which simply records audio and video clips and provides transcripts of his lies, distortions and outright O'Reillyness. Doesn't he realize how stupid he is? Plus, there are people that work with him that appear to agree with him and don't see the absurdity of his accusations.
O'Reilly is so funny. Whenever he gets a letter accusing him of being dishonest he says the viewer did not provide any examples and therefore his argument is void. O'Reilly countless times has harangued Media Matters, saving a special vehemence and truculence for them. Yet he has never once said what it is about them that he holds in contempt. He screams they are vile and despicable, He does not mention to his viewers that all they do is record his words and play them back. It is like being offended and deeply shocked by seeing one's own reflection in the mirror.
O'Reilly does the same thing to George Soros. He complains of Soros, but is rarely specific, except saying that Soros wants to legalize small quantities of drugs like marijuana. O'Reilly calls him a drug legalizer. O'Reilly never mentions or does not know that conservative icon Milton Friedman held the same position. It is a libertarian argument.
As you say, I have rarely seen anyone point out the absurdity of O'Reilly's arguments, given his own hypocrisy. The best thing was when Olbermann played a tape the other day of a guest on Fox In the Morning who asked: "Is Fox a joke or what? It's all propaganda anyway, is'nt it?" The guest actually said that and the Fox pundit just starred at him blankly, ignoring the honesty of the remark. It was great!
It's nice to know he's paying attention to us. Does the truth hurt Bill?
This guy is a shill for the corporate interest who sign his paycheck. He has no credibility what so ever.
Well we all know who won't be appearing on his show anymore.
There is no difference between Bill O'Reilly and one of those travelling snake oil salesman from the Old West...
http://www.billoreillyconman.com/billoreillysnake.htm
The most telling line is: "I don't see a difference between (Arianna) Huffington and the Nazis." This doesn't mean there's no difference between them, only that O'Reilly can't see it. Taken literally, it's an admission of his own ignorance, not a condemnation of Arianna.
Is this an indictment of the schools of Levittown? Not to mention what ever college or university Bill-O attended.
D,
Hey...I went to school in Levittown...PA, and I can assure you, no matter what Levittown you go to school in, this is about as far as you'll go.
SY
His education is obviously lacking. Or is simply ignorance and not the fault of the educational system?
Bill O'Reilly is not from Levittown.
And he went to Chaminade, an all-boys private Catholic school anyway.
Please, O'Reilly intentionally misrepresents his upbringing in neighboring Salisbury by exploiting what Levittown historically means.... O'Reilly associating himself with the people of Levittown (be it Long Island or Pennsylvania) is an offense to the good people of both communities.
Yet another example of attacking the opponent at its strong point, instead of weak point, and Orwellian propaganda, sloganeering, and 180 degree spinstership.
Rightwing champion calls "liberal" champion a Nazi and compares her to the KKK.
Prostitute-frequenting skanky scofflaw Congressman David Vitter spouts one pious attempt after another at controlling private sex and reproductive lives of law-abiding adults.
Draft-dodging VP Dick Cheney champions ANY kind of war effort.
W White house pushes "No Child Left Behind" unfunded public school mandate which hobbles and gets in the way of teaching more children to read than helps.
And, last but not least, torturing for Jesus.
Anyone (at least, anyone educated BEFORE Republicans re-defined American education standards) see a pattern here?
To be fair, if you spend time reading the comments on the news stories here you'll probably agree with the general disgustingness of the whole thing.
However, it's absolutely absurd to equate the bile that random idiots spew on unmonitored and unfiltered comment sections with Arianna herself.
All it proves is that the internet is full of racist, sexist, hateful, bigoted douche bags of all political leanings, and that once given enough anonymity, said individuals are more than willing to inflict their feelings on the rest of us :P
Quite funny how Mr. Young does not respond to the actual charge of allowing dispicable posts about the former first lady. Typical of you all-caring libs.......ignore the facts and attack.
Dear Mr. 19,
And that is why I provided the link to my previous column that does not ignore the facts and attacks.
Thank you for pointing out that I did not do what I did.
Best,
SY
