McCain Closing Down Truth Squads

In a move that should shake up the election, John McCain has dropped his entire Truth Squad effort.

The McCain Truth Squad and the Palin Truth Squad, which were set up by the McCain campaign to "counter false material" about the Senator and the Governor, have presented some unforeseen problems for the campaign.

"At first we thought we could just rip apart attacks made by Barack Obama and his minions," said Senator John Warner (R-VA), one of the squad's leaders. "But then some of the guys took the word truth literally, and honestly, it's put a kink in the entire approach Karl Rove designed for us."

Unbeknownst to the Squad's leaders, some of the young idealists manning the Truth Squad's research effort had been looking into the validity of the claims made by the McCain campaign. They then issued press releases such as, "McCain Tax Is Not READ THE REST OF THE REALLY, REALLY TRUE STORY HERE.

I have to apologize. I posted my two comments on Sept. 27 in response to the KMOV news on Sept. 25 and didn't notice that Steve Young wrote his article on Sept. 10.

Sorry, Steve. You couldn't have been aware of the Sept. 25 news event.

I was actually doing a search for huffington post obama truth squads thinking that this important site would have an opinion piece on it. But as of Sept. 27, there doesn't appear to be anything. Wonder why not? This is going to involve a lot of flack for Obama. I even heard the term RICO mentioned.

Interesting that Steve Young writes this just as the KMOV Obama Truth Squad story is hitting the blogs and Drudge. Sort of a red herring, eh? Very playground. You did it! You started it! No, you started it first!
Obama has indeed taken this whole truth and lie business to a whole new level, though.

Maybe somebody should tell the Democrats that when the Republicans fight dirty, they stop before they actually get dirty.

If you want lies, go visit the orlandosentinal and learn about the missing Anthony child. There's lies for ya and the mother may get away with it!!

Apparently Obama Truth Squads have been at work for a while. Interesting to see a time line as to who started this first.

This article puts it back in January 2008 when Obama was going after distortions by the Clinton Campaign.

If McCain wanted "truth", at least there was no threat of sheriff intimidation. Listening to the KMOV video is an eye opener to me. Obama is moving into interesting territory in his quest for the definition of "truth".

Factcheck.org politifact.com and the fact checker at http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/
all do a great job of searching, researching, evaluating and analyzing the news for us. I trust them and always use my better judgment with the need for "truth squads".

Obama is just as bad as McCain if you count pinocchios or average the truth-o-meter results. Obama used to be doing better than McCain, but he's slipping a lot lately!!!

hahahahaha­haha... but never fear... the media is out in force... backing up the Mc Cain/ Palin lies... and making them seem truthful. They are really shutting down the Truth Squad because they are 'fiscal conservatives' ... and it's wasteful to spend money on the Truth Squad when the media will do the job w/ their own money (but that's not to be seen as an earmark).
