Bush to Kids: Drop Dead!

stumbleupon :Bush to Kids: Drop Dead!   digg: Bush to Kids: Drop Dead!   reddit: Bush to Kids: Drop Dead!   del.icio.us: Bush to Kids: Drop Dead!

"Poor kids first," the Great Dissembler said.

"I believe in private medicine, not the federal government running the health care system," Der Alte Smirker intoned.

And on the sly, he vetoed the bill that would have allotted $35 billion to a health care system from which Americans would benefit, while continuing to rubber stamp the nearly $1 trillion dollars to fund his war-for-hire machine.

You see, by getting health care to more Americans, the government's allies in Big Pharma will feel the squeeze. And they don't like to be squeezed. Not by their mothers. And not by consumers. And after all, revamping health care to allow the majority of Americans participation in a prohibitively expensive system, in which those with mucho moolah can get the best care but those with less cabbage can't is (gasp) Socialized Medicine. It's what the Commies would have done had they won the Cold War instead of us. They would have overrun their newly conquered slaves with affordable health care, those savages. Then maybe the average life span of Americans would be up there with Cuba, Denmark, Chile, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Luxembourg, Costa Rica, Ireland, Cyprus, Guadeloupe, Finland, Germany, The United Kingdom, Malta, Belgium, Greece, Martinique, the Netherlands, Austria, Singapore, Norway, New Zealand, Italy, Canada, France, Macau, Israel, Sweden, Spain, Australia, Switzerland, Iceland, Hong Kong and Japan, most of whom have universal health care systems. And for expediency's sake, these countries are now to be referred to as The Axis of Live.

It seems Red is actually better than Dead.

Bush backers ingeniously insist that government is a bad thing when it serves the people, as they have consistently demonstrated by sabotaging it the moment Engorged George sauntered into the Oval Office. Rather than government serving the people they prefer that people serve the government. For in their minds, a government that makes any effort to ease its people's burdens instead creates a legion of atheistic, pampered brats with poor work ethics and outstretched hands asking for "more?" To them, government only governs best which profits most.

With almost no cunning and just a sheer, familiarly brazen "I dare you to stop me" 'tude, Bush has launched another unilateral attack on a weak and defenseless population -- Democrats, forcing them into another ignominious retreat.

When most politicians were/are/will-be-when-they-get-out-of-office well-to-do businessmen, can a citizen really expect his or her best interests -- let alone their welfare -- to be seen to?

Judging by their increasingly Mephistophelean behavior, much of our government seems comprised of profiteers in patriots clothing and George Bush would rather spend a trillion to kill Iraqi children than 35 billion to save American children. I smell brimstone.

The President of the United States is opposed to children getting medical treatment.. He was not saying no to all children, only those who need it. What a brutal system! Only a week ago, Medicaid said that it would no longer pay for chemotherapy for cancer patients who prove to be undocumented. America in 2007 ! . This is the guy who brought us the Social Security, Part D, Prescription Drug Scam. This plan allows the federal government to subsidize the drug companies a second time. The government pays a percentage of the cost, of these very expensive medications, which results in the retail price going even higher. The drug companies don't care who pays them, as long as they get the money, and they have found another way, of getting even more. As long as these Insurance companies are involved they will continue to rob us. Some people think that each of the Democratic candidates have a health care plan. They do, but they all protect the Insurance Companies, and keep them involved, except, of course Anti-War Candidate, Dennis Kucinich...A FREE, universal, single-payer, not-for-profit, health care system......Medicare for All!

What a slap in the face. But heck we can take this one too. The only thing bush has not done to us yet is to moon us all live on national tv. Or he could let Barney have a nationwide dump on your lawns with out using a baggie. What next?

Along with kids, shouldn't everyone have access to AFFORDABLE health care? Cutting the cost/price of the most popular prescription drugs, make the costs of proceedures uniform and reasonable and the co-pays of insurance affordable. That would help more of us to afford the health care. I do not need a government hand out. I do not expect the rest of America to pay for me to go to the doctor.

I do need the costs to be affordable. But there is no way the big drug companies are going to cut cost of medicines. And one thing is for certain, as Americans age, they will need more help to stay alive, to chose going to the doctor along with paying for food and housing costs.

Who do we decide to cut out of life when it becomes impossible to afford to live?

Believe it or not, you don't die instantly when you don't have health insurance.

Yes--you just die a long, painful, needless (if it is treatable) death when you don't have health insurance and you find out you have a serious illness.

Lets face it, get rid of the newborn to 15 year olds and the folks 50 up and you tend to save billions. And then there are those pesky people who were born with physical or mental problems that require therapy or lifelong care. Geez, deny those folks Medicaid and you gotta love the result!

When you own stock in pharmaceutical company or an oil company your only interest is profit. Not making people well. Although a little good publicity doesn't hurt. And if someone gets hurt on the oil fields of Iraq, that isn't the issue, its whether or not the oil goes to the refinery. And the profit come to your foreign bank.

Yea, I smell something rotten too.

Good job, deminmo,
I was begining to think that I was the only one who knew this. Wasn't it massively coincidental, that just three days before the last election, osama popped put of his "cave" (lol) with yet another dubya-serving scare tactic video! Subsequently, I observed the same thing each and every time dubya started slipping in the ratings polls, and yet again, as we approach this election! hmmmm....Someone's got his hands deep into osama's popckets! Odd too, how dubya's "wild-west" speech following 9/11, that he would "smoke osama out of that cave & bring him back dead or alive", never materialized. Sheesh! How naive are some poeple!

Actually, they DO want the government to serve SOME people, just not us REGULAR people. They want the government to serve filthy rich corporatists that believe that everyone else is there to serve them.

Now, the rich that are decent people, that understand we are all in this together, are another story. But, they are not part of the Repub con game, the criminal theft of OUR money.

There WILL be a revolution in our future. Most of us hope that it will be a peaceful and bloodless revolution that will not be aborted by the plutocratic despots trying to exert complete control over the people. If they prevent a peaceful revolution happening such as has happened in most of Europe there will be a far less peaceful revolution. People will only be pushed so far before they say "ENOUGH!

It is absolutely unthinkable that any child living in America should be without medical coverage. Race or nationality should in no way be a factor. Businesses should be required to offer or help finance their workers' insurance. Yes, SCHIP absolutely should be expanded, as should Medicaid. Whose fine ideas are these? John Edwards! I'm appalled that anyone with a gram of humanity or intelligence would even remotely consider Universal Health Care to be inappropriate for Americans. For those people who support dubya and his anti-child approach, I am only reminded of Dante Alighieri. "The darkest places in Hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." For a child to be deathly ill and unable to access medical care is a moral crisis! We should ALL be fighting for the rights of children in America........and, indeed, in the world!

MTNGLOW, I do agree that Universal Health Care must come; it's a human right. However I don't understand Americans' insistence on (quoting you)"Businesses should be required to offer or help finance their workers' insurance." Why should employers have anything at all to do with employees' care, outside of on-the-job accidents? Universal must mean universal and all-the-time including between jobs, starting one's own business, whatever. Taxes (on both individuals and businesses) must pay for Universal care. It's way too important to be just a perk offered by some employers (when times are good).

And Mr Bush: FOR SHAME!

"A little boy died in Maryland of an infected tooth. His older brother was spared, even though he had 3 infections on his little teeth."

There is no excuse for children to have rotten teeth.
First, parents are RESPONSIBLE for teaching children to brush. How much candy and sodas did these kids get?
Second, I'll lay you odds, Mommy and/or daddy smokes.......more important to buy expensive cigs then to see to the health of their children.
It's time for people who want to be parents to take RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR KIDS instead of whining and wanting everyone else to do it.

brushing alone won't prevent rotted teeth. you need preventative dental care, which very few can afford out of pocket.

and not everyone who is a parent wanted to be one when they became them.

if they didn't want to be a parent, they should have used a condom or birth control which is free at the local health dept.

George W. Bush is a fraud. His "compassionate conservatism" was a hoax to hook the trusting "evangelicals" into voting for him.
Medicare is good enough for seniors, the Bushies tried to change it and got clobbered.
The Federal government is really quite good at administering health care programs. SCHIP is a win, win. Accepting assignment from the feds, guarantees payment for the docs and health care access for all program children. Come on, Universal health care is what private enterprise wants because they don't want to pay worker benefits. What a great beginning for universal health care -Children first. Somehow, I thought that was the order for all rescue operations: Women and Children first, then the Hemen.

bush actually said this (or words to this affect):

everyone in america has health insurance - it's called the emergency room...

republicans do this thing called willful ignorance. they pretend they don't know how the world works, and how terrible their little ideas play out in the real world. they pretend the poor just don't work hard enough, or are not as bright as them. they construct a house of card in a vacuum, and keep telling each other it is true, never allowing any real words or truth to reach them. they are a fearful bunch having laid the foundation of their philosophy on such thin ice. so they flock desperately to fox news, which completes the circle for them. "aaaahhh," they say, with tears in their eyes, as o'reilly or hannity or rush or whomever, tells them the lies that fortify their lies. deep down they know something is wrong, but the money lets them forget, and they go off to the golf course or to dinner and get around other republicans, and they speak more horseshit into the void. and they are happy. they have created a greenzone of the soul, as baghdad falls around them.
