It seems like our government has finally evolved into a phenomenon about as reliable and controllable as the weather. It is no longer merely of, by or for the people as we fantasize but rather a force requiring its citizens to be prepared for its inevitable deluges or trickles, its unpredictable anger or beneficence. Other than gaining an understanding of its mercurial nature, there seems to be little else to do but hang on.

As has been said by people more eloquent than myself, the world is a business and America is now straining to compete in a tightening marketplace. Every moment in this country, the embodiment of its current state is visible in the form of its high profile ailments due primarily to adhering to years of failed sociopolitical policies which did little else but wring the country dry for enormous short-term gains, enjoyed solely by the very architects of that colossal capitalisto-fascist pyramid scheme. This past November, even the Massive Passive had had enough of brazen corrupt idiocy and voted in our current CEO in Chief. Kind of like actually reinforcing levees in a region known for flooding. Ahem.

Whatever or however we may hope, the government will do what a roiling mass of disparate, colliding elements naturally does. But it's now clear that the smarter, abler, cooler, better man who sits in the White House at the moment is doing the business for which he was meant and let's face it: while light years ahead of B-B-Bush (just one of the many reported post-Bush tics) his hoped-for success lay not solely in his election but also in the evolution of those who elected him.

There will always be the heavy lidded, permatanned lizards like Boehner, the shrill bleaters like Graham and the hopelessly psychopathic dead-enders like Coulter and Limbaugh to attack progress and sanity, to stand in the way of any attempt to fix the very thing they require to be broken in order to perpetuate their degenerate lifestyles. But we actively chose this world over the one they created and presided over, a real attempt at sense and sensibility and we must dress appropriately. Our government is now something to be harnessed and consciously directed by its citizens. For that, they must smarten up, activate and indeed endeavor to become individually as smart and active as our venerated president. Even a nation content to be sheep for so long must not allow the wool to be pulled over its eyes.

And after watching the parade of greedy, corrupt traitors walking between the raindrops for so long, it's time for the ones who get soaked to take some action. Got rubbers?
