My God, Poor Hillary

Why are people so hot and bothered about Hillary? Is it just because men are freaked by the prospect of a powerful woman? A black male cab driver in Washington told me, "My wife runs things in bed. I love Bill, but I don't want Hillary running things in the White House."

A lot of men, but not all. And some women, as well.

A woman less independent, less traditionally feminine (how's that for a paraodx?), less intellectual, and more young might have a decent chance, though.

It's not solely an issue of gender--she's a liberal (by conventional standards) and a Clinton. But gender is the big thing.

I hope, against the odds, that she wins.
