Heartless Hart

Rep. Melissa Hart (R-4) is a Pennsylvania wingnut, and I just heard her argue on the floor of the House that we especially can't allow minors to have abortions without parental notification in case of rape or incest "because then we end up hiding the crimes of rape and incest."

I swear to God, I'm not making this up.

A member of the House Ethics Committee, she also voted for the DeLay Rule (the one that would allow him to continue as speaker even if indicted) and perhaps coincidentally (although really, what are the odds?), received $15,000 from ARMPAC - DeLay's PAC. Oh, and she opposes stem cell research - she says it doesn't work, the research is fraudulent.

She's considered to be a leading candidate for Arlen Specter's Senate seat when he retires.
