Now that the dust has settled after having to once again react to a high-profile sadsack expressing their (incorrect and archaic) opinions on women in comedy, I want to talk about how we reacted and how, going forward, we should be more aware of using our voices for good.

What if Carolla is right or at least why is the idea that men are generally funnier than women such a sin that to even think it is a capital offense?

What self-respecting woman really, truly wants to compete for hours on end with smart-ass cynics sporting obscure band tee-shirts and Galifanakabeards, all too terrified to laugh out loud at each other?

Adam Carolla added his name to the list of men in the public eye who don't think women are funny. Yawn. Sure, I was frustrated that Adam said it, but the conversation no longer needs to be had. We have discussed this thing to death, let's just move on; let it lie.

In writing this post I bear some responsibility for keeping the "are women funny" conversation alive for another news cycle. I apologize. But I'm not writing this to argue against Carolla's opinion, rather to say once and for all, who cares? I know funny women. Funny women are friends of mine. Carolla is no funny woman. He's not even Jimmy Kimmel.
