If the financial market doesn't implode first, the media may just explode in anticipation of the VP debate. Are expectations so low at this point that Sarah Palin wins just by showing up and sounding intelligent?
Given that Bush has grounded the ship of state on an iceberg turned loose by global warming, the failure to hold Palin up to the same standards as any other vice presidential candidate would be an act of gross irresponsibility.
I have to at least try to defend the point she was (so badly) trying to make. Alaska was on the front lines of the Cold War. It's a valid point, especially with a newly-resurgent and newly-belligerent Russia.
