The firm that DeSmogBlog revealed has historical ties to Big Tobacco and currently has a client list that includes Koch Industries, ConocoPhillips and BP, Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Group, also has a direct connection to TransCanada itself.

The pipeline -- a project that must be first approved by President Obama -- would transport millions of barrels of a type of crude that contains 20 percent more carbon than the conventional kind. Scientists have warned that if this project were completed, it would mean game over for the planet's climate.

The long legacy of denial and deception by the legion of fossil doom will never be erased. They know who they are. We know exactly who they are. And we know exactly they have done. Greedy Lying Bastards is the most complete telling of this story to date.

You can say one thing about the Koch brothers: They don't let the facts get in their way. But the truth about renewable electricity standards is that they have not significantly increased rates. In some cases, rates have even dropped a bit.
