Both groups come from the same group of people, both are impervious to the evidence, and both get their disinformation from the same right-wing sources.

The level of press attention devoted to the birthers -- far more than left wing crackpots ever get -- seems to be a sign of liberal media bias.

"Silly season" refers to late summer, when governments go on massive taxpayer-funded vacations all over the world. This year's season could produce a bumper crop of silly.

Once a person becomes the President of the United States, in my humble opinion he or she should belong to the people; therefore, the ordinary rights of privacy should no longer apply.

Barack Obama's birthday is tomorrow (or is it?) and in the spirit of gift giving, I've got something for the 28% of Republicans who don't believe Obama was born in America.

This week, the House unanimously approved a resolution recognizing that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. You'd hope that would signal an end to the birther virus infecting the GOP -- but just a day later Roy Blunt, the former Minority Whip and current Senate candidate, called Obama's place of birth "a legitimate question." It's time for these folks to put up or shut up. Show me a Kenyan birth certificate, Lou Dobbs, or zip it. Also this week, the NFL reinstated dog-killing quarterback Michael Vick, leaving sports fans to ponder which team might sign him. Probably best to avoid those with an animal mascot. The Saints wouldn't be a good fit either. He should stick with a team like the Giants or Steelers or Vikings. Why go looking for trouble?

Lou Dobbs, you're a journalist and you believe there's something not quite right about the whole Obama birth certificate thing. Go with your gut on this one, arrange a trip to Hawaii, expose the web of lies.

Today is not a wasteland of slow news. The Government is having its most thorough health care discussion ever, the climate is doing all sorts of strange things, and Vick is once again a free man.
