At least death by falling oil tanker filled with Barbie dolls would be interesting. We'd probably even end up in Aftonbladet.

anyone know why a healthy compressor would stop working? Has oil, little water, power is on, sputters but won't turn over.

Isnt there a case to be made here that the price of oil dropped over the last week or so due to conservation? Maybe its forced conservation but demand was way down by much more than anticipated.

Also the fact that W announced lifting the ban on OCS drilling, doesnt this speak to speculation gone wild?

Can't wait for your followup post. There are alternatives that will make a difference. But I remain doubtful that our leaders will be ready to lead. If they start with the supposition that we are stupid, then they will act stupidly. And stupid works for the status quo.

I have a better idea for #3. Open up the oil reserves that will temporarily lower prices on oil. Its quicker and faster than having to wait for oil offshore.

Only the president can do this. If this happens this places the ball back in the hands of Boosh and the republicans. I don't think they want that so they are playing hardball politics with this issue.

O. says "use the $1000 tax credit to offset the cost." That's way more effective, both in offsetting the cost and encouraging conservation/alternatives.

Really - this is whatDemocratic "operatives" think, is it?

"Dem operatives about this last week, and I heard the same thing several times: Voters aren't sophisticated enough to understand anything "

It is easy to see why the working adults in America dislike the fuzzy faced liberal operatives. But I'm glad you and T. Boone Pickens have the answers to our oil crisis. I'll sleep better tonight.
