Another campaign appearance, another Ted Nugent controversy. Mainstream Republicans and everyone to their left are appalled. But no one is surprised. Nugent's incendiary rhetoric (read: infamous idiocy) is, at this point, expected and tiresome.
It doesn't matter if Brown thinks he wasn't raped. It doesn't matter if he thinks he was empowered and it's just an inevitable experience that catapulted him down the road to manhood. It doesn't matter. He was raped. Rape is rape.
The last thing a pedophile would admit to voluntarily is being attracted to boys, but a scoutmaster who has declared himself openly gay is the antithesis of a liar. If you want to guarantee that you're not hiring a pedophile, the answer you should be looking for to "are you a homosexual?" is "yes."
Presumably, the Boy Scouts still believe that they must protect their charges from us scary adult gay men. And it's not just a concern about potential attraction. If it were, they'd also ban heterosexual women from being den mothers. It's a concern that we are predators.
It is so hard to believe that people are still trying to use the purported link between pedophilia and homosexuality. The old, tired argument that pedophilia is linked with homosexuality is wrong on many levels.
