I was raised in the '80s and '90s. I could program the VCR, so I was a tech genius compared to my parents. I am still a social media whiz compared to some of my peers. But, I am no longer on the cutting edge.
You have to talk to your kids about money from a very early age, as this is when good habits start to form. Make sure that your kids come into contact with money, learn where it comes from and understand how it is used.
It's less embarrassing to talk to a guy than your mom -- and it can be really helpful and reassuring to hear about someone's personal experience; to know that they've lived through what you're living through and understand how you feel.
