This was going to be the year. You read countless blogs. You bought $200 worth of strategy guides. You watched NFL network for two hours each night before bed. And what did all of that get you? An embarrassing 1-4 record.
What the hell is it going to take? I know a lot of you are demanding Todd Haley's and Mike Tomlin's head. But this seems to be a problem with the entire team and organization, fundamental to their core.
I'm proud to say I stand with Bob Costas, proudly, and to publicly proclaim my belief that guns make it too easy to kill people, and that it is time to address, meaningfully and resolutely, our sick national addiction to firearms.
So if Barack Obama and Mitt Romney were afraid to talk about guns (and they were), no wonder America was so shocked when Bob Costas spoke Sunday night, shocked that a man in his position didn't know the right time to talk about guns in this great nation.
It's not one of those numbers that rolls off the tongue. Still, 602 saves is stunning. And clearly most baseball observers feel that Mariano Rivera is the greatest reliever of all time. But will his record ever be eclipsed?
